Korteks Stood Out with Its Innovative and Sustainable Yarns
Korteks, one of Europe’s largest integrated and innovative polyester yarn manufacturers, participated in the 22nd International Istanbul Yarn Fair held in Istanbul between March 26–28. As a company of the Zorlu Textile Group, Korteks presented its innovative, sustainable, functional, and value-added yarns—developed at its R&D center—to industry professionals at the fair.
As one of the leading polyester yarn producers in Türkiye and Europe, Korteks showcased at the fair its yarn technologies developed with a particular focus on sustainability, along with its high-performance technical products, which were met with great interest by visitors.
Among the highlighted products at the fair were Taç Reborn®, produced from recycled raw materials; Taç Bioloop®, developed with biodegradable properties; Dope Dyed yarns, a coloration technology that eliminates water usage in the production process; as well as performance-oriented solutions such as Taç Infrared®, Taç Fluorescent®, Dry Touch®, Clean Guard® and Taç Hybrid®.
“We Contribute to the Transformation of the Industry with Our Sustainability- and Technology-Focused Products”
Korteks General Manager Barış Mert stated the following in his evaluation of the fair: “The International Istanbul Yarn Fair is an important platform for sharing innovative solutions in the textile industry and for developing collaborations. As Korteks, we aim to contribute to the transformation of the industry with our sustainability- and technology-focused products. This year as well, we were pleased to bring together our sustainable yarns—developed especially to reduce environmental impacts—and our performance-oriented technical solutions with industry professionals at the fair.”

Yarn Technologies Developed with a Focus on Sustainability
Providing information on the sustainable products highlighted at the fair, Barış Mert said: “Among our sustainability-focused products, our recycled yarn Taç Reborn®, our biodegradable yarn Taç Bioloop®, and our Dope Dyed coloration technology, which eliminates water usage in production processes, stand out. Taç Bioloop®, in particular, is an innovative technology we developed to reduce synthetic microfiber pollution caused by textile products. This yarn activates only under conditions where natural biodegradation can occur, thereby minimizing environmental impact while maintaining its performance throughout the product’s lifetime.”
High-Performance Solutions in Technical Textiles
Emphasizing that performance- and functionality-oriented technical yarns were also introduced at the fair, Mert continued: “Our products such as Taç Infrared, Taç Fluorescent, Dry Touch, Clean Guard, and Taç Hybrid offer advanced technology solutions for different areas of use. For example, Dry Touch® technology combines comfort and performance in a wide range of applications—from sportswear to workwear—thanks to its rapid moisture absorption and quick-drying properties. Taç Infrared® technology, on the other hand, provides solutions developed for special applications that can be used in low-light conditions. Among our innovative yarn solutions, Taç Thermal Touch stands out with its superior thermal comfort performance. Developed for the production of special thermal fabrics, this yarn delivers long-lasting warmth thanks to its rapid heating and slow cooling. These products demonstrate Korteks’ innovation strength in the field of technical textiles.”
“We Place Sustainability at the Center of All Our Production Processes”
Touching upon Korteks’ sustainability approach, Barış Mert concluded his remarks as follows: “At Korteks, we act with a 360-degree approach that places sustainability at the center of all stages—from raw material selection to production processes, from water and energy management to the final product. In line with our group’s Smart Life 2030 strategy, we focus on protecting natural resources and on the principles of the circular economy. With more than 50 years of experience and our expertise in technical textiles, we will continue with determination to develop high-value-added products that stand out with their sustainable and functional properties and to contribute value to the textile industry.”
