Korteks Wins First Place in “Process Improvement” Category at the Productivity Project Awards
Korteks, one of Europe’s largest integrated and innovative polyester yarn manufacturers, has been awarded first place in the “Process Improvement” category at the Productivity Project Awards organized by the Ministry of Industry and Technology.
A subsidiary of Zorlu Textile Group, Korteks achieved significant success at the Productivity Project Awards, held annually by the Directorate General for Strategic Research and Productivity under the Ministry of Industry and Technology.
Aiming to raise awareness of productivity among institutions and organizations, showcase best practices, and encourage new projects, the event recognized Korteks for its project titled “Excellence in Logistics: Innovative Solutions in Storage and Shipment Processes”, which won first prize in the 2024 “Process Improvement” category.
Digitalization in Storage and Shipment Processes
The project, implemented to manage storage and shipment processes—critical components for achieving sustainable competitive advantage—with high efficiency and low cost, introduced an innovative perspective to these key phases of Korteks’s supply chain. Focusing on digitalization in operational processes such as storage and shipment, the project was supported by multi-dimensional tools including machine learning applications, customized software, and process optimization. As a result, costs were reduced while operational efficiency was significantly increased.
Within the scope of the project, existing systems were thoroughly analyzed to identify bottlenecks limiting efficiency, and concrete improvement steps were taken in these areas. The implementation not only simplified business processes but also created a workplace aligned with occupational health and safety (OHS) standards.
Operating in line with the Smart Life 2030 sustainability vision, Korteks has, through this project, adapted to digital transformation to make its processes more manageable, while also moving closer to its goals of agile and sustainable production. In all its projects, the company prioritizes not only efficiency gains but also long-term value creation. In this regard, the “Excellence in Logistics” project contributes not only to increased productivity but also to the strengthening of sustainable business processes.
Korteks aims to continue developing technology-integrated projects that add value to industry, with sustainability at the core of its operations.
