Trützschler Brings State-of-the-Art Technology to Ege University’s Department of Textile Engineering
The Short Staple Spinning Mill of the Department of Textile Engineering at the Faculty of Engineering, Ege University, has upgraded its technical infrastructure through a machine donation from German textile machinery manufacturer Trützschler.
The company donated a draw frame with autoleveller to support the department’s educational and research activities. With this contribution, the department’s laboratory and practical training facilities have been modernized to meet the standards of current production technologies.
Commenting on the significance of the donation, Prof. Dr. Zümrüt Bahadır Ünal, Head of the Department of Textile Engineering at the Faculty of Engineering, said: “This new machine represents a major step forward for both the academic and practical studies carried out in our department in the field of short staple spinning. The donated draw frame will enable our students to reinforce their theoretical knowledge through hands-on experience with the latest production technologies, while also enhancing the technical capabilities of our undergraduate and graduate research activities. Furthermore, this equipment will provide a strong foundation for collaborative projects with industry, further strengthening Ege University’s partnerships with the textile sector.”
Prof. Dr. Ünal also expressed her appreciation to those who contributed to the project: “I would like to extend my sincere gratitude to all Trützschler executives, especially Christoph Weber, General Manager of Trützschler Textile Machinery, and Sema Altay, Finance and Controlling Manager, for their valuable support during the decision-making and organization stages of this important project. I would also like to offer my heartfelt thanks to our esteemed colleague Prof. Dr. Hüseyin Kadoğlu, whose strong relationship with Trützschler made it possible to invite the company representatives to our department and who played a significant role throughout the donation and installation process. I firmly believe that this collaboration will make a lasting contribution to improving the quality of textile engineering education in Türkiye while enabling our students to gain early exposure to industrial applications.”
