Stäubli Presented Sock Knitters to D4S Fully Automatic Toe-Linking Device
Stäubli Group presented the fully automatic D4S toe-linking device which was operated with 3 different sock-knitting machines of different needle counts (144,156 and 200 needles) at the Istanbul situated branch.
The socks manufacturers who came to the company’s Tuzla facility, viewed the D4S device in running and got detailed information from Stäubli authorities. We as Tekstil Teknoloji magazine took our place in D4S promotion event and we made an interview with Stäubli Italy Textile Department Manager Ivano Perego and Turkey Textile Department Manager Ozan Çöteli.
Ivano Perego, who mention that the hosiery sector is a very costly sector, he said therefore, manufacturers are interested in machines that will reduce costs. Saying that they had developed the D4S to meet the customers’ request Perego gave information about device.
Automation solutions to shorten the sock knitting process
“In many mills, closing the toe is done manually or using a sewing machine after manual intervention by the operator. This takes time and compromises quality. Stäubli’s D4S automatic toe closing device changes all this. Based on an ingenious and completely new idea, it links the sock directly on the knitting machine. It guarantees highest quality, uniformity of the product, and very short downtimes. The socks are unloaded on the fly. The automatic sock pick-up and seaming operations are electronically controlled. Available for sock machines from 8 to 19 gauges, the D4S with its very compact design is easy to install and offers decisive advantages in production efficiency and cost savings.
In addition to the D4S device, the product range shows the 2900 SL electronic controller. It serves for circular knitting machines used to produce hosiery goods, socks, woollen stockings, pantyhose, and medium-to-large diameter knitted goods in various sectors. The 2900 SL controller also includes CAD graphic software for pattern programming, interfaces, remote control, and machine monitoring. It is driven by a Linux-based operating system.”
“I think Turkish manufacturers will show great interest to our new Toe Closing Device”
Reminding that Turkey’s hosiery industry is the second most important market after China, Ivano Perego, ” In Turkey companies gives great importance to quality. Therefore, I hope that Turkish manufacturers will show great interest to our new automatic toe closing device. ” said.
