CFE 2023 Fair, which will Carry the Carpet Industry to the Summit, Opened Its Doors

The Turkish carpet industry, which carries out approximately 17 per cent of the world’s carpet exports, came together for the first time at CFE 2023 – Carpet & Flooring Expo Fair. CFE 2023 Fair, which will be held at Istanbul Expo Centre between 5-8 December 2023, opened its doors to its visitors. The fair aims to carry Turkey, a world brand in carpets, to a higher level.

The exports of the Turkish carpet industry, which leads the world, increased by 48.5 per cent in May 2023 and reached 234 million 317 thousand dollars. Turkey, which is the production centre of carpet, is also preparing to become the centre of carpet trade. The CFE 2023 – Carpet & Flooring Expo Fair, which was held for the first time this year, is organised in cooperation with Tüyap Fuarcılık Group, which has 43 years of know-how, Istanbul Carpet Exporters Association (İHİB) and Southeastern Anatolia Carpet Exporters Association (GAHİB). The fair is aimed to make significant contributions to the commercial targets of our country in the carpet and floor covering sector.

Handmade carpets and rugs, machine-made carpets, rugs and mats, prayer rugs, textile floor coverings, wall-to-wall, flexible floor coverings, laminate, wood and parquet, natural stone, marble and ceramic tiles, artificial turf and sports grounds, fibres, yarns and textiles, textile machinery and accessories, flooring equipment, cleaning and application technologies are exhibited at the fair.

The exhibition has attracted great interest from all over Turkey and various regions of the world in a very short time; and a high number of visitors are expected especially from America, Europe, North Africa and Scandinavia regions. Iran, India, Belgium, Germany, Germany, Afghanistan, Pakistan and Indonesia are among the countries showing the highest demand for participation.

Sectoral innovations at CFE 2023 – Carpet & Flooring Expo Fair

İlhan Ersözlü, General Manager of Tüyap Fuarlar Yapım A.Ş., said that they will introduce carpet industry, one of the leading sectors of Turkey, to the whole world with CFE 2023 Fair. Ersözlü said, “CFE 2023 Fair will play an important role in exhibiting sectoral innovations. The fair will contribute to the increase in carpet exports

Zeynal Abidin Kaplan, Chairman of the Board of GAHİB, stated that Turkey produces 72 per cent of the world’s machine made carpet production. Kaplan said the following: “With Turkey’s second century, we want to increase our sectoral contribution to our country, nation and state. We are working for Turkey, which is the centre of the world carpet production, to be the centre of sectoral exhibition at the same time by breaking new ground not only in carpet production and export but also in the development of exhibition tourism. In the following period, the Turkish carpet industry, which sets the agenda with its production and designs in the world carpet industry, will also be decisive in international markets, especially in fair organisation. This fair, which is organised for the first time in our country with the aim of being the world’s most important carpet and floor coverings fair, will contribute to the increase of our carpet exports and will provide significant foreign currency inflow to our country.”

Turkey will be the meeting centre of the carpet industry

Ahmet Hayri Diler, Chairman of the Board of Directors of İHİB, pointed out that Turkey is one of the leading countries of the world in the carpet industry; “Thanks to the fair, our country will also be the meeting centre of the carpet industry. Carpet manufacturers in Turkey and the world will now showcase their products in our country.” Ahmet Hayri Diler pointed out that the interest in Turkish carpets is very high worldwide and said, “We rank first in the world in machine made carpets. Turkish handmade carpets are known for their unique craftsmanship and high quality. It is especially in demand in European, American, Middle Eastern and Asian markets.”
