Founded in 1911 and headquartered in Pordenone (Italy), Savio Group have operations in Italy, China, India, Belgium, Germany, Switzerland and Czech Republic. Group portfolio includes winding machines and quality control devices for the textile industry. The spinning machinery specialist Savio Group was acquired by the Belgian company Vandewiele in 2021.
We interviewed with Savio CEO Mauro Moro for our Tekstil Teknoloji magazine. Here are the highlights of our interview, which we talked about 2021 evaluations, 2022 goals and expectations:
“Turkey is a benchmark reference for SAVIO in the Eurasian region”
2021 has been very challenging, but the order intake has started to increase from 1Q 2021 and now we have a full order portfolio. Turkey is one of the biggest textile markets for Savio, so attention to Turkish customers is fundamental to support their new projects with the most advanced and automated machines. During 2021, Savio had a booming order intake from Turkey for all product lines, having installed many projects for winding spindles, two-for-one twisting spindles as well as spindles for shrinking and bulking machines. Turkey is a benchmark reference for Savio in the Eurasian region.
“Savio Follows Trends Carefully”
EcoPulsarS winding machine was initially launched at ITMA Milan in 2015 and represents Savio’s latest offering with a focus on sustainability, completely appealing textile companies who are looking to decrease energy consumption in their manufacturing process and also adhere to new environmental legislations.
Savio’s Automatic Winder EcoPulsarS Plus is equipped with a suction-on-demand system which is one of the main reasons why the machines are able to reduce energy consumption. The machine, with its sustainable eco-green advantage, replies to the markets demand of energy saving including room air conditioning, together with improved production performances, high quality packages and utmost flexibility.
Savio has always looked to stay ahead and predict important emerging trends. Now, sustainability is right up there and is a key important development across the global textile industry. Initially, Savio was the first company to introduce computerized machines to the textile industry in the 1990s and more recently, we have followed this up with automation and Industry 4.0.
“Savio is offering remote assistance powered by TeamViewer Pilot”
Automation and digital solutions have been the big drives for Savio product development in the last two years. The requirement for integrated automation in the spinning process is increasing, because of yarn quality and productivity advantages that such solution offers. This integrated automation drive has led Savio to offer customers new bespoke solutions, to increase flexibility to/fro winder.
Savio technical service has also a new and innovative Augmented Reality tool to fast trouble shoot, improve processes and increase machine utilization time. Due to the current travel restrictions, in order to ensure machinery effectiveness, Savio is offering remote assistance powered by TeamViewer Pilot, an application that allows interaction in augmented reality. Thanks to this application, Savio experts from their Italian headquarters can support field technicians at the customer site, in real time, through video sessions for faster troubleshooting.
“Our goal is to focus on new projects of R&D, on digitalization and automation”
Our plan and goal is to focus on new projects of R&D, on digitalization and automation for providing our customers new solutions to maximize their machinery return on investment. The future drive will be digitalization and data exchange in manufacturing technologies. Nowadays, Savio product development is focused on “smart” components that must transmit data online.
Now we are part of the Vandewiele group since 2021, and the new ownership will continue to support our development. Vandewiele and Savio share two important values: one is that the customer is at the centre, and the other is believing in innovation. The acquisition by Vandewiele gives long-term vision to the processes of innovation and development at Savio.
“We expect that ITM 2022 exhibition will powerful boost to textile industry”
Due to the impact of the global Covid epidemic, the exhibitions in the last two years could not be held. It’s very important to be back to physical events and meet in person our customers again, physical connection with buyers is very important for bounding partnership. We expect that ITM 2022 exhibition will further enhance the confidence and give a timely and powerful boost to Turkey’s textile industry.
Savio will be exhibiting in Istanbul solutions-oriented portfolio to maximize machinery return on investment, both for machinery and for technical service. Savio offers numerous machinery solutions to support the quality of the final yarn product: winding, winding for continuous shrinkage, bulking and heat setting, TFO twisting.
