“Savio Has Inıtiated A Collaboration With Vandeiele Türkiye Hub For The Turkish Market”
Interview: Dilek Hayırlı
In 2026, Savio introduced another important change in its organizational structure in Türkiye through a joint collaboration with the Vandewiele Türkiye Hub. All activities regarding Savio textile machinery products and after-sales services are carried out through by Vandewiele Istanbul Tekstil Makineleri San. Tic. Ltd. Şti.
Türkiye plays a key role in Savio’s global strategy with its strong yarn infrastructure, rapid adaptation to technology, and high quality expectations. With its continuous modernization approach and focus on value-added production, Turkish yarn manufacturers are a significant reference market for Savio’s latest bobbin winding and yarn technologies. In an interview with our Tekstil Teknoloji magazine, Gabriele Tonin, Vice President of Regional Sales for Savio Türkiye, emphasized that Türkiye, along with Asia and Italy, stands out among Savio’s main export markets with its stable demand. He also explained how automation, digital monitoring, and energy efficiency-focused solutions are shaping investment decisions in Türkiye. Tonin shared details of Savio’s product strategies for the Turkish market, its new technologies, and the service structure strengthened through its collaboration with the Vandewiele Türkiye Hub.
“DEMAND REMAINED CONSTANT IN OUR MAIN EXPORT MARKETS SUCH AS ASIA, ITALY AND TURKIYE”
In a period marked by global uncertainties, what kind of year was 2025 for the yarn and winding machinery market? Looking specifically at Savio, how would you evaluate the company’s performance in terms of sales, export markets, and changes in customer investment priorities?

Savio Lybra Smartspinner
2025 was a year shaped by geopolitical uncertainty, fluctuating raw material costs, and cautious investment behaviour across the textile value chain. Despite this context, the yarn and winding machinery segment showed resilience, driven by the need for higher efficiency, automation, and energy‑saving solutions. For Savio, demand remains constant in our core export markets, particularly in Asia, Italy and Turkey. Customers continued to prioritize investments that guarantee long‑term operational savings — automation, digital monitoring, and machines capable of processing a wider variety of yarns.
Our sales performance reflected this shift: projects with a clear ROI, reduced labour dependency, and improved sustainability metrics were the ones that moved forward fastest. Savio’s portfolio, already oriented toward these priorities, allowed us to maintain a stable position globally.
“WE HAVE STARTED INTRODUCING LYBRA SMART SPINNER TECHNOLOGY IN TURKIYE”
In yarn production, speed, quality, and sustainability are no longer considered separately. In which areas does Savio aim to differentiate itself to maintain its competitive advantage in the coming period: technology, service, digital solutions, or production flexibility?
Speed, quality, and sustainability are now inseparable pillars of yarn production. Savio’s differentiation strategy builds on four integrated strengths:
Advanced Technology: Continuous innovation in winding, tension control, and automation
Digital Solutions: Predictive maintenance, real‑time monitoring, and data‑driven optimization
Service Excellence
Production Flexibility: Machine concepts that adapt to different yarn types, production scales, customer layouts
Our goal is to offer not just machines, but complete, future‑proof solutions that enhance productivity and sustainability. Savio LYBRA Smart Spinner technology is a high-potential product in our manufacturing process, with a strong competitive differentiation: it has opened a new door in the air-jet yarn market with features not found in competitors.
Savio patented spinning chamber gives yarn greater softness and shine. This is achieved without compromising yarn strength. Because of these features, manufacturers producing carpets with acrylic and cellulose yarns have turned to LYBRA Smart Spinner technology.
In Türkiye, we have begun introducing this technology by meeting with leading yarn and carpet manufacturers. Our main strategy for 2026 is to proudly continue introducing LYBRA Smart Spinner Technology and, of course, our PROXIMA Winder machine, which promises higher production with less energy consumption thanks to its highly advantageous technologies.
Savio has a strong and well-established position globally in bobbin winding -machinery. What are your fundamental engineering, mechanical design, and automation approaches that make this competitiveness sustainable? Which technical criteria and performance parameters are prioritized in new product development processes?
Savio’s long‑standing leadership in automatic winding is rooted in a few fundamental engineering principles:
- Mechanical Robustness and Precision: High‑quality components, optimized kinematics, and long‑life mechanical assemblies.
- Automation at the Core: From doffing to package handling, automation reduces variability and ensures consistent quality.
- Modular Design: Scalable configurations that allow customers to tailor the machine to their exact needs.
- Energy Efficiency: Low‑consumption motors, optimized suction systems, and intelligent drives.
In new product development, we prioritize yarn tension stability, winding quality and package density, energy efficiency, machine uptime and ease of maintenance, digital integration and data availability. These criteria ensure that every new Savio solution delivers measurable performance improvements.
The increasing variety of yarns, such as recycled yarns, technical yarns, high-strength and elastic fibers, creates new requirements in winding processes. How has Savio adapted its machine designs, winding technologies, and process control systems to accommodate these new yarn types?

Savio Proxima Smartconer
The diversification of yarns — recycled, technical, high‑strength, elastic — has transformed winding requirements. Savio has responded with targeted innovations:
- Adaptive tension control systems that automatically adjust to yarn behaviour.
- Specialized splicing technologies for elastic and technical yarns, ensuring strong, consistent joints.
- Optimized yarn paths and materials to reduce abrasion and thermal stress.
- Advanced sensors and closed‑loop controls that maintain stability even with challenging yarn structures.
These developments allow customers to process new-generation yarns without compromising quality or productivity.
Mechanical precision, yarn tension control, and process reliability are still critical in bobbin winding machines. What technical advantages do Savio machines offer in terms of maintaining yarn integrity, uniform bobbin structure, and stable operation at high speeds?
Savio machines are engineered to maintain yarn integrity and package uniformity even at high speeds. Key advantages include:
- High‑precision tension control with real‑time feedback loops.
- Uniform bobbin structure thanks to optimized winding geometries and intelligent traverse systems.
- Stable high‑speed operation supported by vibration‑free mechanics and advanced drive technology.
- Low yarn stress due to carefully designed yarn paths and controlled acceleration profiles.
- Consistent quality ensured by automated monitoring and self‑adjusting parameters.
These features translate into fewer yarn breaks, better package build, and higher overall efficiency.
“WE OBSERVE A CLEAR TREND IN DEVELOPING MARKETS”
As competition in the global textile machinery market increases day by day, investment decisions are becoming more selective. In which main export markets does Savio have a strong position today? What kind of demand trend do you observe in developing markets, especially for yarn and bobbin winding technologies?
Savio maintains a strong presence in India, Bangladesh, Pakistan, China, Turkey, Vietnam, Italy and Latin America (Brazil, Mexico, Peru). In developing markets, we observe a clear trend: customers are increasingly selective, focusing on automation, energy savings, and machines capable of handling diverse yarn types. Investments are shifting from capacity expansion to quality improvement and cost optimization, which aligns perfectly with Savio’s value proposition.
“TURKIYE IS A KEY MARKET FOR SAVIO’S LATEST INNOVATIONS”
