Interview: Tuğba KARADEMİR
While continuing to lead the digital transformation in the fashion, automotive, and furniture industries with Industry 4.0 solutions, Glengo Lectra Technology shares its vision for a sustainable future at Garment Tech Istanbul Exhibition.
With nearly 40 years of deep-rooted industry experience, further strengthened by the strategic merger in 2022, Glengo Lectra Technology offers innovative solutions to over 9,000 individual users and more than 1,500 organizations. Combining the synergies of the Gerber and Lectra brands, the company meets the requirements of Industry 4.0 with a broad product range — from computer-aided pattern design to cutting machines — and sets the direction for the industry with its integrated systems, the key to digital transformation.
At Garment Tech Istanbul, Glengo Lectra stands out with its sustainability and innovation-focused approach, aiming to foster new collaborations and technological breakthroughs. The company will meet visitors at Hall 4, stands 402, 403, 404, and 405. Glengo Lectra Chairman and General Manager Mehmet Aykut Vural shared his expectations from the exhibition with Tekstil Teknoloji magazine.
What contributions do you think Garment Tech Istanbul Exhibition will make to the growth and development of the garment and ready-to-wear industry?. We believe that bringing industry stakeholders together in a exhibition environment again will be very beneficial in terms of fostering direct engagement and leading the hoped-for recovery from the second half of 2025 onward.
Garment Tech Istanbul, a exhibition for Garment, Embroidery Machines, Spare Parts, and Subsidiary Industries, serves as a platform to showcase global trends and technologies. What role do such events play in helping manufacturers access new technologies and innovations?
Trade exhibitions are always useful and effective platforms for both exhibitors and visitors to observe industry developments and innovations.
In our case, the recent 2 to 2.5-year period in which the merger of Glengo and Lectra was completed has given us a more powerful and comprehensive product repertoire. We believe the exhibition will play a positive role as it provides an opportunity to introduce and inform the industry and users about the new solutions we have developed.
How will the exhibition contribute to industry collaborations and new business connections? Could you share your thoughts on the commercial opportunities that participating in Garment Tech Istanbul will bring to your company?
Over the past two years, the industry has faced difficult times due to natural disasters like earthquakes, low order volumes, and unfavorable exchange rates. We believe that the timing of the exhibition— mid-2025 — will mark a return to equilibrium and a revival in the ready-to-wear sector. In this environment, we see the exhibition as an opportunity to enhance our brand visibility and spark new partnerships.
What kind of innovations and solutions do you plan to present at the exhibition? Are there any new products you’ve developed or plan to unveil specifically for the event?
Glengo Lectra Technology, representing the Lectra and Gerber brands in Turkiye, maintains and strengthens its undisputed leadership in its field. We will present advanced versions of our widely known and used solutions in the industry, updated with the Industry 4.0 perspective. These innovations offer faster, more integrated, and unified platform capabilities to current and potential users in the garment and ready-to-wear sectors.
