DeFacto will Increase Its Abroad Turnover to 70 Percent in 5 Years
DeFacto which operates in 93 countries on 5 continents, joined forces with the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD), one of the world’s leading financial institutions. Thus, it will increase its overseas turnover to 70% in 5 years.
The EBRD acquired minority shares of the company with an investment of TL 1.1 billion. The EBRD, which was established with the partnership of the European Union, the European Investment Bank, and 64 countries, will add value to the brand with its vision of sustainable development in the company’s globalization attack.
Evaluating the investment, DeFacto CEO İhsan Ateş said, “This investment is one of the most concrete indicators of the trust in DeFacto and our growth potential. This partnership will further become fast the acceleration of our abroad growth, which we have covered a great distance with. Thus, we will operate in 180 countries by 2027.”
İhsan Ateş emphasized that their partnership with the EBRD is a very important step not only for DeFacto but also for the retail sector; “The EBRD, which operates in Central and Eastern Europe, Central Asia and the Southern and Eastern Mediterranean, partners with institutions that focus on sound financial structure and sustainability. This partnership is among the most concrete indicators of DeFacto’s long-standing globalization success. We will further increase the success we have achieved in Europe and continue our growth.” he made his statement.
İhsan Ates said; “We have entered 11 new countries in 2022. We have opened our first store in Turkmenistan, Cameroon and Congo. We started sales in Indonesia, Chile, India, Ireland, Czech Republic, Slovakia, Lithuania and South Africa. We will open stores in Dubai, Saudi Arabia, Libya, Algeria, Angola, Rwanda and Mauritius Island in 2023. In South America, we have signed important business partnerships all over the continent. We carried our journey that started with Mexico to Argentina, Brazil and Chile. By mid-2023, we will increase our maturity level in the South American continent. Our new focus countries this year are; It will be Colombia and Peru. We will enter a brand new continent in the first quarter of 2023. We are starting our Australian operation with the continent’s most important online sales channels. We have worked with the aim of creating a global brand which is the pride of our country, since the first day we were founded. With this vision, we will carry the DeFacto brand to 100 countries and we will open 100 new stores in the 100th anniversary of our Republic.”
