“HYM-1923 Rope Washing Machine We Produced in 2023 Will Revolutionise”

Samet Kıray, Chairman of the Board of Kıray Makina; “We produced the Rope Washing Machine HYM 1923 in 2023. We are currently following the consumption rates of this machine. It is progressing with very low consumption rates, we managed to meet our target. Our machine will revolutionise its field in a short time.”
We interviewed with Samet Kıray, Chairman of the Board of Kıray Makina, for the special issue of ‘Turkish Textile Machinery Industry’. Kıray, who evaluated the year 2023 and explained the expectations for 2024, also made important statements about the ITM 2024. Kıray said, “We had the opportunity to compare again in the fairs we attended this year that ITM Exhibitions is a fair that surpasses most of the foreign fair organisations. ITM is the most comprehensive and professional fair organisation held in our country.” The highlights of Samet Kıray’s statements are as follows…
“Our Production Speed and Quality Increased Thanks to Our Investments”
Kıray Makine ranks first in our country and in the world with the quality of the products it produces. Our priority is to progress by doubling our current quality. As a company; we are in an effort to improve the products we produce. We continue R&D studies of new products that respect nature. Thanks to the investments we have made, our production speed and quality have increased a lot. Our goal of introducing our products to different countries and new markets will continue.
“Our Priority is to Offer Quality Products, Not to Sell Many Machines”
Uzbekistan, Russia, Germany, Italy, Pakistan, Bangladesh, Egypt, India, Morocco and Colombia are the leading countries we export to. We realise our sales to these countries both through our sales team and representatives. We participate in fairs that we think will be beneficial for our company, we explain our products and our company. Our goal of expanding our agent network will continue this year. We are definitely very selective in this regard. Because our priority is not to sell many machines, we want to produce quality products with the right team and present them to the customer.
“All of Our New Products Are Designed to Reduce Carbon Footprint”
During and after the pandemic period, the textile industry experienced perhaps a golden period. We received a lot of demand and had difficulty in responding from time to time. This forced us to make improvements within ourselves, and the results really made a difference. We started to implement 5S and Lean production concepts in our company. Absolute order and quality were clearly established within the company.
We invite the companies we supply materials to our facility to explain the their innovations. Since science and technology support is mandatory, we work with academicians. We make modifications in line with the customer’s request, because Kıray Makina is one of the rare companies that can solve all of its equipment and software within its own organisation. We care and invest in our business.
Textile is a sector where water, chemical and energy use is very intensive. We have all felt and experienced the effects of global warming in recent years. We have very valuable products that we have just produced and are currently in the design stage. All of these products are designed to reduce the carbon footprint and to be sensitive to the environment.
“Our Tubular Slitting Machine Attracted Great Interest in the Market”
Tubular Slitting Machine, which we started to sell in 2018, attracted great interest. More than 450 of our machines are actively used in production in the market. The most popular aspect of this product is that it works flawlessly, does not tire the business, and increases the amount of production with low consumption and high speed.
The stenter is a machine registered by ITU. In emission measurements, it was proved that it is a product equivalent to a chimney filter and that the subsequent drying machines provide a lot of improvement in energy consumption. It has been determined and registered by all users that the textile product washed in the pre-washing machine can be dyed with much less water and energy and its quality is much higher.
Our HYM-1923 Rope Washing Machine, which we presented to our country in the 100th anniversary of our Republic in 2023, will revolutionise its field in a short time.
“The Equipment We Use In Our Machines Has The Latest Technology”
As Kıray Makina, we are a company that constantly follows technology closely and uses technological products to the fullest. The equipment we use in our machines have the latest technology. The machines we produce as a requirement of the age we are in; With Industry 4.0 working principles, it has structures that can be controlled completely over the internet and data can be recorded in a virtual environment.
Making sales means establishing tie. We visit our customers whenever we have the opportunity. We have to get feedback on our customer’s satisfaction, requests, water and energy use so that we can go one step ahead. Therefore, after the installation, our personnel continue to provide training in the enterprise for a while. We provide the necessary software support for our machines to act as a whole with other different brands in the enterprise. We also endeavour to provide support for the machinery and equipment that our customers have supplied from different companies before us and have difficulty in getting support.
“As Domestic Producers, We Must Act Jointly”
Recently, the textile market has experienced some contraction. Some contractions in textile producing countries have also put the sector in difficulty. We need to expand our market worldwide. We should do this together with our other valuable producer friends in our country and we should determine a policy. I think our biggest deficiency is that we do not have a structure that can act together as domestic producers and make joint decisions. We should be better organised and have a serious say in the world market by taking the right decisions. There is a young generation of producers who can do this. I believe that we will establish this in the near future.
“Our Export Rate in 2023 was 40% – 50%”
Kıray was our surname, but now it has become a value of our country and then the world. We are a company known for its reliable and disciplined structure, quality products, being accessible, investing in technology in production and using the system, in-house cleaning and meticulousness, and valuing its team. Our main goal is to take company steps forward by maintaining our current position. 2023 was stagnant for our country and world textile machinery manufacturers. Our export rate is at the level of 40% – 50%, so there was a slight decrease this year. Our goal is of course to increase this.
“We Met the Target in Consumption Rates in Rope Washing Machine HYM 1923”
Machinery investments continue at Kıray in order to increase our production power and quality. Apart from this, we endeavour to produce a new and unique machine almost every year. In this process, the construction works of our own production facility progressed in parallel. In 2023, we produced the Rope Washing Machine HYM 1923. We are currently following the consumption rates of this machine. It is progressing with very low consumption rates, we managed to meet our target. Machine development work continues.
We determine our new products according to market needs. The machines we will produce are shaped according to customer requests or complaints during business visits. However, we are definitely moving forward with technological products, products that will add value to Kıray company, require software and design products unique to us.
“ITM is an Organisation Leaving Abroad Exhibition Behind”
ITM 2022 was very productive for Kıray. Our expectations from ITM 2024 are even higher. We plan to exhibit our new machines, electronic equipment and units that we have been producing for years. This year, we will be at the fair again with our products that will attract attention and that we will be honoured to introduce.
We had the opportunity to compare again in the fairs we attended this year that ITM Fairs is a fair that surpasses most of the foreign fair organisations. ITM is the most comprehensive and professional fair organisation in our country. If it continues to be managed correctly, it is a candidate to be the biggest fair of the sector. In addition, the location and accessibility of our country is in a position to support this. In the simplest terms, I am proud to have such a strong fair organisation in our country.
