Engineering staff, who are expert in their fields, constitutes 40% of the total employment at the IHI DALGAKIRAN, which is progressing towards being an R&D Center with a large structuring.
Being the first and only turbo compressor produced in Turkey with the collaboration of Japanese and Turkish engineers, IHI DALGAKIRAN Turbo Compressor serves in many industries such as iron steel, automotive, textile and mining.
With its advanced technology applications and worldwide marketing network, IHI DALGAKIRAN is Turkey`s first and only manufacturer of Turbo Compressors. The Company invites the entire textile industry to the opening ceremony on October 11th.
As Teknik Fuarcılık A.Ş, we made an interview for August issue of our magazine Textile Technology with Kazuo Kobayashi and Yakub Tüfekci who are the CEO and the General Manager of the IHI DALGAKIRAN, which made an impression with its success. Enjoy reading.
What is Turbo Compressor different from other compressors?
Today, when we look at the variety of compressors, there are many products that are technological. Scientifically, compressors are divided into two types: displacement and dynamic compressors. All compressors produced in Turkey are displacement compressors, namely old type. The dynamic compressors we have produced have a newer system. We have a different air-tightening principle and there are turbines (titanium impeller) rotating at very high speeds in the machines. Thanks to these turbines we produce pressurized air and increase energy efficiency at a high rate. We also provide improvements to the companies in terms of costs. We can say that one of the biggest pros of our product is the annual maintenance, rather than two or four years. The product we offer our customers has the lowest failure rate in the world. Once customers buy a product from us, they definitely buy the second and the third product.
Where do you manufacture your products? Where do you export?
We carried the production of IHI DALGAKIRAN Turbo Compressors to our Dilovası plant in order to increase employment and to reduce the import rate in Turkey. In this process, our AR-GE team of Turkish & Japanese business community continues to work for the localization of our products from the first day of our establishment within the scope of the Industry 4.0. With this development, we became Turkey`s first and only manufacturer of Turbo Compressors. We export the turbo compressors which we produce in Turkey from Germany to China. By establishing our Turbo Compressor production plant in Turkey, as well as we reduce the import ratio also we contribute to export ratio of the country. IHI DALGAKIRAN which gives sales and service in whole Turkey offers its products to Europe, Middle East, Turkic Republics and African markets within the scope of agreement made.
Can you talk about your technical service?
We established our service team with a serious engineering and technician staff. All of these teams have participated in technical education in both Japan and Turkey. Our staff is successfully taking care of even the most critical applications. Our service team will continue to grow and serve in many parts of the world.
Why should the textile sector choose you?
Textile is one of the critical sectors for us. Critical sectors are often highlighted by energy costs. All textile companies engaged in production in Turkey, whether they work with domestic market or external market, is progressing on sectoral low profit margins. So even the smallest variable that will affect output cost is very important. We can say that one of the biggest input items is compressed air. Therefore, the compressors have a vital importance. Since the machines which cause the greatest energy costs are compressors, we provide up to 35 percent energy savings compared to conventional compressor technology. IHI DALGAKIRAN Turbo Compressors produce 100 percent oil-free compressed air and create optimal designs tailored to the customer as the need for compressed air changes frequently during production. We provide high efficiency and savings on maintenance and stopping costs. This offers great advantages to the textile sector.
What are the reasons of your rapid progress in the textile industry?
We do studies in some big factories. We reviewing the operator`s existing compressor infrastructure and presenting a report. We make a detailed study that demonstrates the efficiency difference between IHI DALGAKIRAN branded Turbo Compressors and the compressors they currently use. In case they prefer IHI DALGAKIRAN Turbo Compressors, machines can amortize themselves in a few years with the energy savings in operating costs. In this way, The Company sees the gain in proportion to the investment to be made. We got very good results on the reference works we did by applying this. For this reason we have progressed rapidly in the textile sector.
So you are doing company based production.
Each product is custom tailored to our customers. For this reason, we offer products that will work efficiently for many years. This leads us to a much better position than our competitors. As a result of our production, our service team ensures the installation of our products. We provide updates to our customers who have used our machines for over thirty years, along with new technologies.
How does Industry 4.0 work in the world of compressors?
Demand for pressurized air has increased in all areas of the industry due to factories heading for more automation thanks to Industry 4.0. Increasing energy costs are encouraging companies to use more efficient technologies to save energy and therefore to use more efficient products. Knowing this, under the guidance of our R&D team, consisting of Turkish and Japanese engineers, in every industry we serve, we produce IHI DALGAKIRAN Turbo Compressors in the models of T2A, TRA, TRE, T3A and TRX at various pressures and capacities. In the AR-GE department, the aerodynamic design is entirely tailored to the user`s factory and environment conditions. Also, Turbo compressor project activities in the range of 132 kW to 2000 kW are being carried out by developing compressor control and automation systems considering user requirements. Thanks to the data flow in the control panel we have developed with high engineering, we can follow our products while working on the field. With our extensive sales and service network, we are able to provide instant solutions to the needs of our customers both inland and abroad. The products we will release in September will carry all the features of Industry 4.0. Software of these products have been made in Turkey. We have our own unique turbo compressor software. For large factories, we are manufacturing another automation system called scale system.
Could you evaluate the Turkish textile industry in terms of your products?
Kazuo Kobayashi, The CEO of the Company IHI DALGAKIRAN: As far as I see, textile in Turkey has a big share. In this sense, we consider that textile is a large industry which we can sell our compressors to every company. Costs are very important for textile production. If the productivity is good, the customer gains a good profit from it. We respond to every need of our customers with our own compressors produced by us. We see great opportunities in the textile industry.
