ISKUR Prepares to Open Its Second Factory in Diyarbakır
ISKUR, one of Turkey’s most important textile group, it is setting up its second plant in Diyarbakır. The new facility, which will be built at a cost of 50 million Euros, will employ 200 people. ISKUR aims to make also Diyarbakır a textile production center after Kahramanmaraş.
ISKUR, one of the Turkey’s leading integrated company based in Kahramanmaras, it took action for the second investment in Diyarbakır. ISKUR, which exports 75% of its production to 30 countries, primarily Europe, will establish an open-end spinning mill in Diyarbakır with an investment of 50 million Euros. The company, which will make production on 25 thousand square meters closed area and a total area of 45 thousand square meters in the 3rd stage in the Diyarbakır Organized Industrial Zone, will provide employment opportunities for 200 people. ISKUR Group Chairman of the Board A. Kadir Kurtul said that new investments are always needed for high competition, developing technologies and sustainability in the textile industry. Kurtul stated that Diyarbakır, which they have been in agricultural and commercial relations for a long time, is one of the best quality cotton production centers in the world.
Expressing that one of the breaking points as ISKUR is their new investments, Kurtul said that after Kahramanmaraş, their goals were big in Diyarbakır. He continued his words as follows.
“As ISKUR, we have made actual our first investment outside of Kahramanmaraş by establishing the ring compact spinning facility, which is the biggest private sector investment in Diyarbakır, and in addition to this investment, we are proud to make our second investment.”
6 thousand people will be employed until 2023
Noting that after the investment they made in Diyarbakır, they saw that the potential in the city is much more than it seems, Kurtul said, “With our first investment, I believe we have turned the negative perception of the region into positive. Of course, the support of the people of the region increases our appetite for investment in the region. ” Kurtul added that their investments in the region will continue and they will reach the target of 6 thousand people as a group by 2023.
