“ITM 2022 Exhibition Has Become a Phenomenon in the Industry”
İsmail Şengüler, General Manager of Dilmenler
İsmail Şengüler, General Manager of Dilmenler, stated that the ITM 2022 Exhibition has become a phenomenon in the sector in the last 10-15 years. Şengüler, who said that they missed the sector meetings during the four-year mandatory break due to the pandemic, underlined that he was pleased with the intense influx of visitors, including serious buyers. Şengüler said: “We talked to our customers from the past, we made new connections.” said. He stated that their primary aim is to strengthen the ongoing cooperation with their existing customers. Şengüler said, “There is also a bit of a host-guest relationship at the exhibitions. Participating companies from the host country, on the one hand, display their products, and on the other hand, host the participants. In this respect, the exhibitions also form the basis for the meeting of the members of the sector who cannot come together easily.”
Şengüler said: “As Dilmenler, we reflect the experiences we have gained for many years on the machines we produce. Dilmenler Makine is one of the important players in the sector. We had the opportunity to showcase the machines we produced at ITM 2022. Since we had to take a break for four years, we needed to remind ourselves to the sector again. ITM 2022 has been a very good opportunity for us.”
Ismail Şengüler believes that the Turkish textile sector is still very dynamic and vibrant. Saying “The pandemic has actually given a positive impetus to the Turkish textile sector.” Şengüler continued his words as follows: “As of the region we are in, Turkey is positively differentiated from neighboring countries. There are no countries in this geography that are better than us and have more knowledge. So I think that Turkey is in a very good position in textiles and its future will be good. The sector is still very vibrant.”
Evaluating the developments and new breakthroughs in the textile sector, Şengüler believes that the biggest problem facing the sector is the use of natural resources. Şengüler does not foresee a radical change in the technology dimension of the business. According to Şengüler, it has become more difficult to come up with new technologies that will use water and energy less, especially in the dye finishing industry. From now on, it is necessary to turn to projects aimed at recycling of waste water. If it is possible to recycling of waste water, it can continue the processes without harming nature but by continuing to use water instead of dyeing without water. Expressing that Dilmenler spent 2022 efficiently, Şengüler noted that the supply chain problems experienced throughout the world also affected them.
