“We Have Been Waiting for This Moment for a Long Time, We Are Happy with the Result”
Rafealla Carabelli, Sales Director of Fadis
Known for its precision winding machines, Fadis continues its investments in Turkey. We talked with Rafealla Carabelli, Sales Director of Fadis, who designs special production machines for different types of yarns, about the ITM 2022 International Textile Machinery Exhibition, their expectations and the achievements they have achieved.
After a 3-year break due to the pandemic, textile technology leaders came together at ITM 2022. What are the achievements of ITM 2022 in the textile sector?
We were very excited about the exhibition. Face-to-face meetings are always much better, especially if we are talking about a textile machine. Therefore, I can say that we have been waiting for this moment for a long time.
How was ITM 2022 for Fadis? Did it meet your expectation?
I can say that we are very satisfied with the exhibiiton. There are a lot of visitors not only from Turkey, but also from the surrounding countries. So I can say that I am very grateful.
What are the features that distinguish the products you exhibited at the exhibition from your competitors and what will be the advantages that it will provide to users?
The policy of Fadis has always been to produce a customized machine. Because of the fashion industry, the demands of the market are changing very quickly. Therefore, we tend to produce machines that can be modified very quickly and very flexibly.
The Turkish market is becoming more important and more competitive every day. We have brought the latest version of our machine here. And here we have a new fully computerized and automatic winding machine, which we use not only in Turkey, but also in neighboring countries.
What kind of cooperation have you signed during the exhibition?
You know, exhibitions are always preparations for the future for companies. So I can say that this exhibition means more to us than “signing an instant contract”, especially since we have been meeting with many more people from some countries that we have not been able to visit for a long time.
What are your opinions about the Turkish textile sector and the Turkish market?
The Turkish entrepreneur is very active. They are quite used to competition and at the same time are in a positive “aggressive” position. Therefore, I observe that more investments are being made in different areas rather than the usual areas for Turkey. As you know, the market used to be mostly cotton, now I can say that we see the filament more in all areas.
What is your prediction about trends and innovations in winding technologies in the world in the near future?
This is a very good question, because we are seeing more and more automation in the textile sector. As you know, the textile sector has always been a labor-intensive sector, but even in Turkey today there is a desire to switch to automation in order to be more efficient.
