Murat Şahinler Elected as the New President of TETSIAD

Murat Şahinler has been elected as the new president of the Turkish Home Textile Industrialists and Businessmen Association (TETSIAD). “Change has won, innovation has won, and TETSIAD has won,” said Şahinler, emphasizing their goal to restructure the sector and strengthen its position in the international arena.

During the elective general assembly of TETSIAD, Murat Şahinler was elected as Chairman of the Board. The election reflected the industry’s demand for renewal and change. In the race between two candidate lists, Ufuk Ocak received 403 votes, while Şahinler secured the presidency with 524 votes.

Those Who Wanted Change Have Won

In his thank-you speech following the announcement of the results, Murat Şahinler stated: “This result is a sign of believing in common sense, co-creation, and the future. Change has won, innovation has won, and TETSIAD has won.”

Highlighting their goal to restructure the home textile industry and strengthen its international standing, Şahinler added: “With projects ranging from education to sustainability, from digital transformation to branding, we will lighten the burden on our industry. Together we are strong; together we can make Turkish home textiles a global leader.”

We Have No Time to Lose

Şahinler underlined that new initiatives such as the Home Textile Academy, Digital Transformation Center, Green Certification Program, and Young TETSIAD Committee will be implemented swiftly in the new term.

He continued, “The second and third-generation representatives of the industry will be actively involved in the process through these initiatives. We have no time to lose. We have set out to elevate Turkish home textiles to the top with its design, quality, and brands. This is not just a change in management; it is the beginning of a new vision.”
