29 Million Dollar Investment from Eren Tekstil for Renewable Energy
Eren Perakende & Tekstil, which resolutely continues its mission to build a sustainable future with its investments in renewable energy resources, environmentally friendly production processes and social responsibility projects, shared its 2023 Sustainability Report with the public.
In 2021, Eren Perakende & Tekstil, which realised its second yarn factory in Bitlis with an investment of 150 million dollars, put one of the largest industrial facilities of the Eastern Anatolia Region into operation. The company, which also took action to establish Turkey’s largest shoe production facility, has already invested 60 million dollars for the facility, which will produce in a closed area of 80 thousand m2 in Tekirdağ Misinli. The company also aims to obtain all of the electricity it uses from green sources in 2030 by investing approximately 29 million dollars in renewable energy in its production facilities in line with its zero emission targets.
Female employment rate in Bitlis is 65%
Eren Perakende & Tekstil which has a 65% female employment rate in Bitlis Raw Yarn Factory, develops learning and career programmes to support youth employment every year with the motto of innovative employment.
Increasing its investments in the R&D Centre every year, the company invested 13.5 million TL in 2023, an increase of 50% compared to the previous year. Since 2021, Eren Perakende & Tekstil, which has won various awards in the international arena with its R&D Centre, also contributes to the development of the national economy by providing 92% localisation in the supply chain.
40 MW renewable energy capacity in 2026
Eren Perakende & Tekstil has set emission reduction targets in line with the Paris Agreement and the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals and developed important strategies in energy management, water use, waste management and chemical management. As of 2023, the company started green energy production activities with 30,000 solar panels and will reach an installed power capacity of approximately 40 MW in 2026 with the completion of planned renewable energy investments. Thus, it will meet 50% of its total electricity need from clean energy in all production locations. The company also aims to meet all of its electricity needs from renewable sources by 2030 through green energy investments.
Eren Perakende & Tekstil, which develops solutions to reduce waste generation by collaborating with its suppliers on waste reduction and recycling, also organises trainings for its employees to raise their awareness on this issue. With its ‘Zero Disposal’ strategy, the company recycled the textile waste generated in 2023 through textile-to-textile, low-value recycling, closed loop recycling and remanufacturing methods.
