“Our Products Are Ahead of Our European Competitors in terms of Price and Quality”

CTMTC company, which is among the top 500 companies with the largest total import and export volume in China, introduced its newest Ring machine, Carding machine and Cabler at the ITMA 2023. CTMTC Marketing Director Mr.Q stated that visitors from all over the world showed great interest in their products during the exhibition.
As Tekstil Teknoloji magazine, we visited the CTMTC booth at the ITMA 2023 and interviewed Mr.Q.
Can we listen from you about the founding story of CTMTC Company?
China Texmatech Co., Ltd, established in 1984, is the largest enterprise in China specialized in import and export of textile machinery and technology. Our company was originally affiliated to China Textile Industry Ministry, now it is the key enterprise of China Hi-Tech Group Corporation. In 2004, By introducing China’s largest textile machinery manufacturer Jingwei as shareholder and strategic cooperation partner, CTMTC started a new age of development. In 2017, CTMTC became a member of SINOMACH (China National Machinery Industry Corporation).
Can you give information about your fields of activity and product portfolio?
CTMTC focuses its business on many fields such as the import and export of textile machinery and the whole set equipment, textile technology, textile products, garments, and textile raw materials; engineering contracted, investment etc. The business scope of import and export of textile machinery and technology covers cotton spinning, wool spinning, flax spinning, silk, chemical fiber, knitting, printing, dyeing and many other fields. In our product portfolio; There are a wide variety of machines such as fiber preparation, spinning preparation, winding, sizing machines, air-jet, rapier weaving machines, warp knitting machines, nonwoven lines. For years, our company has ranked among China’s top 500 enterprises which have the largest total volume of imports and exports. Up to now, we have contributed a total value of more than US$3 billion of imports and exports to China’s textile industry.

What is the most important feature that distinguishes your company and your products from your competitors?
First of all, our company has a long and deep-rooted history. Latter; We are the only supplier that can supply all products in the textile chain. We have a wide product range from blowroom to carding machine, from comber to warp knitting machines, from weaving machines to nonwoven lines. We also offer fully automatic systems and connect our products with the e-monitor application. The e-monitor system collects and analyzes all the data on the working machines and instantly transmits it to the operator, factory manager and factory owner. We also have a very wide know-how on technology and material improvement.
You have been a major supplier of textile machinery. Which are your major markets?
We have products in all markets around the world. In terms of the textile industry, we formulate our main markets as 6+1. 6 big markets for us are; Bangladesh, Pakistan, Indonesia, Vietnam, Turkey and Uzbekistan. +1 country is India. This country is a bit of a challenge for us. Because it is a very large country and also we have strong competitors producing spinning machines in India.

Can we listen from you about the importance of the Turkish Market for CTMTC?
Turkey is not a big market for us. For example, if we talk about ring capacity; There are about 200 million spindles in the world, of which about 50%, or 100 million, are located in China. 3.5% of it, 7 million of them, is in Turkey. However, what makes Turkey special are; the average age of the machines are very young, it has modern facilities and production capacity are high. Compared to other markets in the world; It is more difficult for us to take a place in the Turkish market, both distance and technologically. We entered the Turkish market for the first time in 1999. At that time, our machines were having problems, we were not focusing much on after-sales services. In 2015, I developed a new strategy for the Turkish market and met Can Murat Eraydın, who is owner of our agency called Eraydın Tekstil in Turkey. We have determined a new roadmap. We take small steps and follow the market closely. Our goal is to reach reasonable sales figures in Turkey. Currently, the number of machines in Turkey is not high, but our machine sales increase every year compared to the previous year.

What are the products you highlight at the ITMA 2023 and can you give us information about the advantages these products provide to users?
We introduced our carding machine, which offers high quality and efficiency, at the ITMA 2023. It has not been a year since we launched this machine on the market, but it has been highly appreciated by our customers not only in China but all over the world. It was sold to a company in Turkey 2 months ago. We also presented our smallest cabler and the longest ring machine in the world to our visitors at ITMA. Our cabler has a market share of 70%. When we compare our machines with our European competitors, I can say that they are more affordable and have superior features. Our delivery times are also very short. We do not want to make money, we want to benefit the sector.
How was the year 2023 so far for your company? Can you evaluate it in terms of your orders and export markets?
Like other international companies, we are experiencing some problems due to exchange rates. Our total sales are fluctuating, but if you look at the whole picture, we’re having a great year. Our sales are increasing day by day.
On the other hand; International company means having a wider product range, a wider market and a larger capacity. We also do engineering business. For example, I will go to Myanmar in a week and we made a full project for a company there. In other words, we do not only install textile machinery, but also put into operation many units such as air-conditioning, laboratory, electrical power system, water treatment and dyeing equipment.
