Rubenis Company Trusts Circular Knitting Machines of Mayer& Cie.
Twenty-five tonnes of knitwear per day is the Rubenis knitting factory’s production capacity. The fully integrated textile company based in Istanbul, Turkey, commenced operations at the beginning of 2021 in its new, state-of-the-art production facility with only Mayer&Cie. machines. Over thirty of the German premium manufacturer’s circular knitting machines are in use at Rubenis. They knit single jersey, double jersey, rib structures, fleece – in short, everything a customer could wish for. At its factory Rubenis uses only organic cotton from its own spinning mill. Fabric is supplied in 100- to 250-kilogram rolls.
Relanit 3.2 HS is the model of choice
Two thirds of the circular knitting machines on the Rubenis shop floor, all with industrial frames and housed in separate cabins to prevent fluff from spreading, are Relanit 3.2 HS models. The most common model of this highly productive machine type is the 32-inch version, followed by the 30- and 26-inch versions. They are extraordinarily productive in processing elastomeric yarns.
Rubenis also uses several MBF 3.2 three-thread fleece machines and D4 2.2 IIs. The former is a cotton enthusiast. It is widely used for producing heavy cotton fabrics as they come in sweatpants and hoodies. The D4 2.2 IIs are interlock specialists. At Rubenis, they knit to an E18, the MBF 3.2 to an E24 gauge on a 32-inch frame.
Relanit machines have a strong tradition in Turkey
Its preference of Relanit machines Rubenis shares with many Turkish textile manufactures. They appreciate the machines’ productivity and reliability, especially when processing elastomeric yarns. This is for two reasons in particular: A 30-inch model of the Relanit 3.2 HS reaches up to 45 rpm knitting with lycra. Even at top speed, plating faults are hardly seen with this machine. Furthermore, the machine is very tolerant in terms of yarn qualities. Even with minor quality resources, a reliable and steady output can be achieved.
Relying on Mayer & Cie.’s Relanit machines has a long tradition in Turkey. Since the early days of the machines equipped with relative technology, they have been popular among Turkish knitters. Since their introduction in 1987, several thousand models have been shipped to Turkey. The total number of Relanit models ever built has reached around 12,000. This makes Turkey one of the most important Relanit markets in the world.
