Çağatay Sümer, General Manager of Mersan Makine; “ITM 2024 Exhibition is an opportunity for the textile industry to get out of stagnation. We spent the first day of the exhibition very well. We are trying to make good use of this opportunity.”
The second day of ITM 2024 Exhibition, which hosted thousands of professional visitors from 74 countries on the first day of its opening, also passed with the intense interest of the visitors. The textile sector and machinery manufacturers, which have been experiencing a recession for a while due to the economic contraction, were very satisfied with the interest ITM 2024 received. Çağatay Sümer, General Manager of Mersan Makine, said that ITM 2024 will accelerate the normalisation process of the sector.
Mersan introduced felted sanforizing machine and rubber blanket sanforizing machine for open-width knitted fabrics, and the singcing machine for open with knited and woven fabrics to its visitors at the exhibition. Felted open width sanforising machine is a product that provides the desired weight, width and length shrinkage values after stenter or drying. Singcing machine is used to reduce or completely eliminate the dead fibres on the fabric surface. Expressing that they are pleased with the interest in the machines that offer ease of use and service quality to their customers, Sümer underlined that Mersan also adopts the logic of environmentally friendly products. ‘We offer our customers an environmentally friendly and sustainable production approach with all our machines. I think that all manufacturers should also build the environmentally friendly and sustainable production approach that dominates the sector.’ Çağatay Sümer pointed out that the textile machinery sector, like all other sectors, is going through a difficult period in economic terms.
“Textile Sector Needs to Get Out of Stagnation”
The Covid-19 pandemic, which affected the whole world in 2020, faced textile manufacturers with a serious crisis like all sectors. According to Sümer, who noted that textile machinery manufacturers are trying to overcome the bottleneck by making optional production, it is necessary to move to the ordinary and active period as soon as possible. “I think that ITM 2024 Exhibition is an important opportunity in this transition phase.” said Çağatay Sümer and does not hide his satisfaction with the diversity of the visitor profile. “The diversity is very good. We spent the first day of the fair very well.
We showed our machines to our representatives and customers coming from all over the world. Turkey is in a special and important position for the Central Asia and Eastern Market. We are trying to utilise this opportunity well.” At the end of the first day, which was visited by thousands of people from 74 countries, Sümer expressed his expectations about the fair and stated that Mersan hosted guests from Pakistan, Bangladesh, India, Iran, Uzbekistan and Russia on the first day. This interest also increases the hopes and expectations of the exhibitors for the following days. Mersan, which has completed its meetings with the prospective customers, has already made some co-operation negotiations with Pakistani and Bangladeshi textile manufacturers on the first day.
