Synthetic Fibers will Dissolves in Nature in 210 Days with B210
Called B210 by Çalık Denim, inspired by the motto of “Future to Nature” and its 210 days to dissolve in nature, will bring a new breath to the industry’s fight against waste. Çalık Denim presented B210 for the first time in its Blue Coalasence Spring Summer 2024 collection, designed to leave a unique touch to nature. Çalık Denim General Manager Serhat Karaduman said the following about the subject; “Textile waste is the source of 35 percent of the world’s microplastic waste. It is estimated that the amount of textile waste, which was 0.7 million tons in 2022, will reach 2.2 million tons in 2030. As Çalık Denim, we have developed our denim, which we call B210, with the hard work of our R&D and P&D teams in order to reduce the effects of sectoral waste on the environment and contribute to the circular economy. We will support the reduction of industry waste with B210, the first and only denim that can dissolve 99 percent in nature. We will also contribute to the Paris Agreement’s fight to keep the global average surface temperature rise below 1.5 degrees Celsius to prevent the climate crisis.
We aim to leave a livable world legacy to future generations with denims to be produced with our new technology. Synthetic fibers need millions of years to biodegrade in nature. . As Çalık Denim, we support the reduction of biodegradation time of products containing even synthetic fibers to 210 days, thanks to our B210 technology. Moreover, denim in the form of washed clothes has the feature of biodegradation in a much shorter time. Moreover, in the dissolution process, chemicals etc. that will harm the environment. It does not release any toxic substances.” said.
