Technology Summit from BTSR for Turkish Textile Suppliers
Italian BTSR, collaborating with Teksel Textile since 2005, organized technology summits in Istanbul and Gaziantep for textile industry representatives.
BTSR, providing electronic sensors and smart systems designed to monitor the process of yarn preparation for conventional, elastomer, and other varieties, and to proctor the control of feeding tension and other important quality parameters, organized two technology summits; first, on December 10, 2019 at Istanbul Renaissance Polat Hotel with the participation of yarn, socks, seamless, and tricot industry representatives, and the second, on December 12, 2019 at Gaziantep Divan Hotel with the participation of yarn, carpet, and diaper industry representatives.
The added values in application, productivity, and quality areas were shared in parallel meetings at the summit with participating industry representatives exclusively. Moreover, a groundbreaking new system on yarn quality control, Iridium, which will be offered to the industry in 2020 was introduced at the summit.
“We need to focus on Smart Textile”
At the Technology Summit, hosted by District Sales Manager of Teksel Textile Tolga Sezgin, information regarding Teksel Textile was also released. The company, established in Istanbul in 1987, now represents 14 international firms in Turkey about textile machinery, spare parts and accessories with its team of 45 experts experienced in their sectors. The speeches of Teksel Textile executives touched on the indispensability of raising quality, reducing costs and utilizing technological improvements in order to survive in the ever-increasing competitive markets.
“Adding value to our collaborators is our main goal”
After the opening statement, BTSR Sales and Marketing General Director Angelo Rizzo, made a presentation on the company and its products. The company, BTSR, established in 1979 in Italy, now serves with its more than 100 employees. The firm, having an innovative and improvement-oriented cultural structure, participates with more than 200 machinery manufacturers (OEM), collaborates with more than 3000 Textile/Technical Textile end users, and with qualified business partners in more than 40 countries.
Rizzo added the following regarding the vision and mission of the company: “As BTSR, adding value to our collaborators is our main goal. Our endeavors in this direction are for effectively supporting the organizations in order to productively manage yarn-based processes and technologies, offering our customers optimal-cost integration, providing easy and reliable technology, competitive advantages, high performance, savings, and market-oriented solutions.”
Rizzo also explained the main sector applications of BTSR: “We support services on thin and socket socks, weaving, medical, shoes, sportswear, yarn preparation applications, technical textile, carpet, hygienic, and diaper processes. Angelo Rizzo also indicated that BTSR is a global reference for leader companies in textile applications on yarn breakage tracking sensors, tension controlled yarn feeding solutions, and yarn quality control processes.
Rizzo said that BTSR yarn control systems are flexible and versatile solutions, which can be assembled easily on new and already operational machines, and added: “The companies, which modernizes their production processes and machines with BTSR systems receives higher productivity and better quality performance. A significant enhancement in production efficiency, obtaining desired product quality goals, and reducing defective production amount are provided as well.
After Angelo Rizzo’s speech, Prof. Dr. Bülent Özipek, Istanbul Technical University, member of Faculty of Textile Technologies and Design gave a presentation on ‘New Horizons in Textile’. Özipek, remarking that among the 24 sectors in Turkey, textile is in the first three for exporting the most value-added products, listed the strengths of Turkey as follows: “Surplus of investments in machinery, materials, and buildings, technically wide and modern manufacturing activities, wide variety in production range of cotton and polyester products, raw material imports from Turkey, production opportunities in large quantities, long-term relations with the customers, and advanced integration possibilities.”
Özipek continued stating that the rapid increase in fiber, yarn, and particularly polyester production will go on in the following years and mentioned that 80% of the world fiber production, which is expected to exceed 140 million metric tons in 2030, will consist of artificial fibers. Özipek also gave examples of environment-friendly and biodegradable natural fibers on the contrary of synthetic fibers.
“Turkey is an important market for BTSR”
After the presentations, BTSR Sales and Technical Service Executive Claudio Marini informed us about a groundbreaking new system on yarn quality control, Iridium. Marini explained: “Iridium, a rapid sensor developed for examining yarn quality, is a 3-dimentional reading and color analysis system. Through an optical reader this new sensor can determine the position and size of the yarn in every condition. An additional sensor that will be mounted on top of this one will allow the determination of the colors. The natural color of the yarn changes due to contamination. Higher quality results will be obtained in the yarn production facility processes due to the sensor that will detect these defects.”
Marini underlined that BTSR achieved a constant growth up until 2019, and said that they had a stable year because of the global economic hardships that are perceived worldwide. Marini said that there was a positive activity in Turkish market after the second half of 2019, and that they hoped better for 2020.
Italy Trip to Three Companies
There was a raffle among the participating companies after the presentations ended at the Technology Summit. Two companies from Istanbul and one company from Gaziantep won a 2-days-3-nights Italy trip. A total of 6 people from these lucky companies will also have the chance to visit the facilities of BTSR in Italy.
