Altınsu Tekstil Reduced Its Textile Wastes to Zero
Company will commission new Pet Crushing Washing Line within two months. It will be possible to recover polyester wastes other than textiles.
Hasan Altınsu, Chairman of Altınsu Tekstil Board of Directors, said, “We have reduced our textile waste to zero in our sustainable production process. It will be possible to recover polyester wastes other than textiles with our newly established line.”
According to the news in Ekonomim Newspaper; established on an indoor area of more than 50 thousand m2 in 2 different locations, Altınsu Tekstil accelerates its sustainability and transformation efforts for the textile industry with its 550 employees. The company, which carries out four main activities: pet chip production, yarn, weaving, and dyeing, recycles polyester textile waste and pet bottle shards with the understanding of “sustainable production”. Thus, it provides an integrated production with the dyeing and finishing processes of the fabric after transforming them into chips, which are the raw material of polyester yarn, the chips into yarn, and the yarn into fabric. Altınsu Tekstil, which carries out all the processes within its own structure, not only contributes to domestic production, but also reduces carbon emissions from logistics activities.
Hasan Altınsu stated that they pay attention to environmentally friendly production by developing nature-friendly alternatives for a sustainable world. Altınsu; “We have reduced our textile waste to zero thanks to the reprocessing of our wastes generated during production and bringing them into first-quality production. With the latest work we have done, we have increased waste recycling from 70% to 100%. It is possible to recycle polyester textile waste in all forms, both dyed and unpainted, with our Recycle production line. We take the waste of every product we ship and turn it into fabric again. We also collect the waste of polyester producers in Bursa and reintroduce them to the economy. 85% of our products are made with recycled materials. In this context, we also carry out zero-waste projects with some global brands.” commented.
Hasan Altınsu underlined that every process in Altınsu Tekstil is certified within the scope of international standards: “We are a company that can document all of our products. In addition to this, we also provide meetings with foreign institutions in addition to domestic institutions regarding the supply of the raw materials we need. We have the necessary waste import document in order to procure raw materials from abroad. We also installed the machines for the Pet Crushing Washing Line, which is the second pillar of our investments in the recycling section. I can say that once the deficiencies in the line are completed, we will put them into operation within 2 months. If we can collect colored wastes in a certain size, we can skip the dye house stage with the product obtained from that material. With the completion of this line, it will be possible to recycle polyester wastes in addition to textiles.” He explained.
Reminding that they are working with many global brands, Altınsu said; “We will participate in fairs in Paris in July and in England in September. Also, we are developing ourselves in recycled production; on the other hand, we continue our efforts for promotion and new markets. Europe has overcome the recession and its stagnation. Still, most of the European orders go to Far East countries.” he ended his speech.
