“The Success of TC 19i, Increased in Our Market Share in Turkey”
Dr. Bettina Temath, Head of Global Marketing at Trützschler says that; “The successful introduction of our intelligent card TC 19i recently led to a further increase in our market share in Turkey. In combination with the high quality of our entire machine program and intensive customer support, we have been able to win numerous orders in the country.”
The Trützschler Group is known for its advanced solutions needed by the textile industry for spinning preparation and nonwoven & man-made fiber processes. Trützschler, which makes the spinning preparation process smarter against increasing competition and cost pressure, offers yarn producers high quality.
We made interview with Dr. Bettina Temath, Head of Global Marketing at Trützschler for our ‘Yarn Technologies Special Issue.” Speaking about the technologies Trützschler has recently developed, Temath expressed; “Our vision of the intelligent spinning mill is already taking shape and we are constantly working on providing more intelligent and sustainable solutions. In 2021 you will see major innovations along the whole spinning preparation process chain from Trützschler.”
What would you say have been Trützschler’s most significant developments and achievements in spinning preparation machinery?
We believe that intelligent machine technology and digital networking are key to improve raw material utilization as well as productivity and the consistency of high quality. Our intelligent Trützschler Card TC 19i represents a major milestone here: It is the first self-optimizing card worldwide. The TC 19i with T-GO gap optimizer automatically and continuously adjusts the carding gap to an ideal setting during production. This is made possible by advanced sensor technology and data from our proven T-CON 3 system. In addition, the TC 19i interfaces with our digital monitoring systems My Mill, My Production and My Wires. These are cloud-based monitoring solutions which enable customers to literally steer and optimize their spinning mill anytime from anywhere in the world. This combination of complete, intelligent machinery solutions and digital support systems means a big step in automation and ensuring high quality. It is already making our customers’ lives much easier.
What would be the size of the market for spinning preparation machines? What is the pie that Trützschler would claim for itself?
Yearly, several thousands of spinning preparation machines, e.g. carding machines, are being sold to spinning mills around the world. The successful introduction of our intelligent card TC 19i recently led to a further increase in our market share in Turkey. In combination with the high quality of our entire machine program and intensive customer support, we have been able to win numerous orders in the country.
In 2021 You Will See Major Innovations Along the Whole Spinning Preparation Process Chain from Trützschler
What are the key trends you see emerging at the moment in the spinning preparation machinery sector? What new innovations can one expect in spinning preparation machines?
With our machinery, Trützschler provides answers to our customers’ demands for consistent quality regardless of raw material, higher productivity, energy efficiency and optimum raw material utilization. Our vision of the intelligent spinning mill is already taking shape and we are constantly working on providing more intelligent and sustainable solutions. In 2021 you will see major innovations along the whole spinning preparation process chain from Trützschler.
What challenges does this industry face? What do you propose to overcome them?
Personnel bottlenecks, raw material quality fluctuation as well as permanent cost pressure are some of the most challenging worries of our customers. Our solution for staff shortage and quality fluctuation is called adaptive self-optimization: High-precision Trützschler sensors continuously measure decisive production parameters. On this basis, our machines adjust themselves optimally and thus, consistent quality can be produced with less skilled workers. We help customers to avoid unnecessary loss of good fibers and consequently reduce costs, for example through our Waste Control system, and through process shortenings such as IDF Direct Spinning. Due to the limitation of cotton, we also see a trend towards synthetic and viscose fibers and blends, as well as the use of recycled fibers. Thanks to advanced Trützschler machine technologies, high-quality yarns can be made from production waste or noils. Used clothes can also be processed with Trützschler solutions and reintroduced into the textile chain. In this way we can contribute to a more sustainable textile production together with our customers.
Could you tell us about your worldwide sales and support network and the countries you export? What are your expansion plans?
Partnership needs proximity. For this reason, we have sales and service teams in all major markets and understand the concerns of our customers. Service companies in four countries and 36 service stations worldwide enable continuous and on-site support from our service staff and a short response time to address our customers’ needs and requirements. We remain at our customers’ disposal not only during the time of installation, but from the beginning of the project through the entire service life of our machines and installations.
