Twine Solutions Introduces World’s First Digital, Waterless, Yarn Dyeing Machine
The symposium organized with the support of the Hosiery Industrialists Association was held at Polat Renaissance Hotel. Twine CEO and Co-Founder X Alon Moshe, Socks Industrialists Association President Ender Doğan, Twine Vice President of Sales Yuval Nohum, Twine Advisory Board member Menny Alon were among the speakers of the symposium moderated by BTC Information Technologies company owner Nurten Ergün.
Significantly Reducing Inventory Cost
Delivering the opening speech, Ender Doğan emphasized that Turkey, the world’s second largest sock producer, is in a very important position for Europe. Doğan stated that in 2022, the hosiery sector exported 1.5 billion dollars, surpassing the apparel sector, which exported 780 million dollars. Emphasizing that raw materials in sock production should be supplied from Turkey, Ender Doğan stated that thanks to the machine developed by Twine, stock costs will decrease significantly and will play an active role in achieving the 2050 zero carbon footprint target.

Minimizing Water Consumption
Pointing out that Turkey has important production facilities and will become an even more important center in the future with its location close to Europe, Twine CEO and Co-Founder Alon Moshe underlined the importance of digital transformation and sustainable production. Moshe continued as follows: ‘‘TS-1800 works with 15 times more production capacity on a yearly basis and is the first ‘Digital, Waterless, Yarn Dyeing Machine’ in the world in this field. In addition, 10 tons of water is consumed for the production of 70 kilograms of denim. We prioritize energy saving by minimizing this with our machine.’’
Prof. Dr. Bülent Özipek, Dean Emeritus of Istanbul Technical University (ITU) Faculty of Textile Technologies and Design, participated in the symposium via video conference and made evaluations about the sector. Özipek said about the TS-1800 digital, waterless yarn dyeing machine produced by Twine: ‘‘TS-1800 is a very important machine for the sector. It is an innovation that can help minimize waste consumption with its environmentally friendly features such as waterless operation and energy saving.’’
Answering questions about the TS-1800 Digital, Waterless, Yarn Dyeing Machine and providing technical information, BTC Bilgi Teknolojileri Technical Manager Ümit Batal said: ‘‘TS-1800 is realized by the process we call the immersion method when the yarn, which is raw or ready to be dyed, is white. The dipping method ensures that the dye in the amount of yarn is ready by the machine without creating waste in the chamber. After the pre-drying process, fixing is done. The laying process of the yarn, which is ready for use, is completed. The most important point of our machine is that it does all this with zero waste principle. The colors can be mixed with the desired colors in CMYK colors as in the traditional method, or they can be read to the desired color with the help of a spectrophotometer and transferred to the machine.’’

More yarn can be dyed in less time with zero waste
Thanks to the time, cost and energy savings offered to the user by the TS-1800 machine, more yarns can be dyed in less time with zero waste. By utilizing the immersion method, there is no need for a print head, which prevents the print heads from drying out and the drying inks from damaging the machine. In addition, TS-1800 has a 24/7 working capacity, paints using environmentally friendly inks and provides low energy consumption. The machine, which can work both plain and marbled on polyester, PBT and recycled yarn, can dye yarns ranging from 50 denier to 800 denier.
The advantages that the Twine TS-1800 machine will provide to the user can be listed as follows:
- Shorter delivery time with yarns available in shorter lead times
- Ability to prepare samples on demand
- Unlimited color variety with spectrophotometer in addition to the standard color catalog
- Efficient production at low cost
- Environmentally friendly use with less waste
