‘‘We aim to continue the growth trend we have succeeded in 2022’’
Halis Gencer, Tachyon Makine Sales and Marketing Manager
Continuing its production activities in its modern production facility located in Çorlu, Tachyon Makine succeeded in a growth trend in 2021 despite the troublesome pandemic outbreak. Stating that they aim to continue this trend in the new year, Tachyon Makine Sales and Marketing Manager Halis Gencer expressed the following, ‘‘For this, we will continue to go in new markets while trying to increase our share in existing markets. In addition, we will continue to increase our production capacity and related capabilities accordingly. It is a fact that automation and robot technology will gain a lot of importance in the upcoming period. We are starting to take the necessary steps by taking this into consideration in our production.’’
How was the year 2021 for your company, especially if you evaluate it in terms of export volume, production capacity and employment?
As a result of the revival of textile in the domestic market in 2021 and the increase in activity in markets such as Pakistan and Uzbekistan, where we completed our structuring, we have achieved a general growth trend in all areas. We also started to get the first results in markets such as Egypt and Iran. We think that this is important as part of our strategy for the coming years.
‘‘Our Target Markets; Far Asia, Central and South America’’
What kind of a roadmap did you come up with in the face of the new order being voiced, are there new markets in your target?
We think that two important developments for the textile market will shape the market in the upcoming period. We can foresee that China will become a consumer market for textiles rather than a producer as a result of economic developments and environmental restrictions. In addition, we think that the impact of countries close to the market as producers will increase due to the increasing transportation costs and the necessity of simplifying the supply chain. For this reason, we will focus more firmly on these target markets, thinking that Far Asia and Central and South America will increase their market share in world textile production in the upcoming period.
During the pandemic period, many companies focused on R&D and developing new technologies. What new products and technologies have you developed in this period? What will be the gains of these products for the textile machinery industry?
The most important issue for us from the very beginning until today was to produce continuous lines with low water and energy consumption. The pandemic period has increased the importance of this phenomenon even more. We think that machines with this feature will come to the fore even more and this will be important not only in terms of environmental awareness but also in terms of cost-effectiveness.
In this period, we focused more on the efficiency of our machines through our R&D studies. While increasing the capacity, we made improvements to enable our machines capable of consuming even less. Especially in the towel industry, we have had very advantageous results from our work. We can observe this in our machines operating in towel washing in Denizli and Pakistan.
‘‘Turkish Engineering and Craftsmanship Begin to Earn the Respect It Deserves Abroad’’
Textile and ready-made clothing are among the leading sectors of Turkey in terms of exports. However, there is an intense foreign dependency in terms of textile machinery. How do you think the emphasis of the pandemic on domesticity in many areas was reflected in the textile machinery industry?
Turkey is one of the countries that increase its production and market share in textile machinery the fastest in the world. In terms of quality and efficiency, we are in a period where Turkish machines are now seen as the highest quality machines in many parts of the world. In addition, Turkish engineering and craftsmanship is gaining the respect it deserves abroad, albeit slowly.
While our preferableness is increasing in the world, we expect this to be reflected within our own national borders. In order to encourage this, we think that government incentives which were on the agenda last year, are also very important. We carry out special R&D projects with our customers on this subject. With the advantage of being close to our customers, we work specifically for their needs and get the results together. This is an issue that provides us and our customers a competitive advantage.
‘‘Automation and Robot Technology Will Gain Much Importance in the Coming Future’’
As a company, do you have new investments on your agenda in the near future? Can you please talk about your expectations and your goals for 2022?
In the new year, we aim to continue the growth trend after the pandemic that we succeeded in 2021. For this, we will continue to go into new markets while trying to increase our share in existing markets. In addition, we will continue to increase our production capacity and related capabilities accordingly.
It is a fact that automation and robot technology will gain a lot of importance in the upcoming period. We are starting to take the necessary steps by taking this into consideration in our production.
As you know, 2022 will also be the year of ITM. Could you share with us your views on the gains of the ITM Exhibition, which will bring the textile machinery industry together after a long break?
ITM 2022 will be the first international textile machinery exhibition to take place after a long time. We are aware of the fact that this exhibition is very important because Istanbul is an important crossroads, its accessibility is easy and there are investments that have been postponed for a long time.
‘‘We Will Attend ITM 2022 with Pura Bleaching Machine and Circum Dye Rope Washing Machine’’
Do you have any new products or new technologies that you plan to exhibit at ITM 2022?
We will be at the exhibition with the innovations we carried out on Pura, the world’s most effective bleaching machine, and Circum Dye, our rope washing machine. We want to show that we are also present in the continuous processing that is going to come to the fore in 2021. We look forward to sharing with our customers the important results we have achieved in continuous bleaching, cold pad batch dyeing, and continuous washing processes, which have become increasingly popular in knitting dyeing and reducing water and energy consumption.
