Asil Tan, VAV Technology Global Sales and Marketing Manager
Germany-based high-tech company VAV Technology, which develops and produces machines, robotic technologies and software for denim manufacturers and laundries, was among the companies that met with their customers at the ITM 2022. Asil Tan, VAV Technology Global Sales and Marketing Manager, stated that the ITM 2022 Exhibition was held at the right time after the break due to the pandemic. Stating that they were very happy with the density of visitors at the exhibition Tan said, “We were very satisfied with the business contacts we made during the exhibition and the visits of our customers. The visitor profile is quite high-quality. We have visitors from all over the world, from the Middle East to the Far East and South America. The ITM 2022 has more than met our expectations.”
Saying that as Vav Technology, they produce products that no other company in the world produces, Tan added, “Many of the products you see at our stand are unique in the world. For example, the OB Robotic spraying machine is a system that makes human-made sprays with a robotic system.”
“The Turkish Textile Sector Is Experiencing a Renaissance”
Stating that they made new collaborations with their existing dealerships all over the world during the ITM 2022 Exhibition Asil Tan expressed that they signed sales agreements with their customers. Stating that the Turkish textile industry has been reborn especially in the last period, Tan said, “The quality of the textile industry employees has become competitive, high quality and able to provide very long service thanks to the innovation of the companies. Turkey is currently the 6th largest textile machinery exporters in the world. It is the 3rd largest importer of textile machinery. In other words, Turkish companies are investing in technology and can provide much higher quality products to markets much faster. Currently, the textile sector is experiencing its former renaissance after the 1990s.”
“The Future of Denim Industry is Very Bright”
Asil Tan, who recalled that the denim sector is also much more advanced than 20 years ago, continued: “Because the biggest problem in the denim business is sustainability. In the old days, a lot of resources were spent on the denim industry. The methods used were harmful to human health. Now the business is starting to turn to technology. Denim technologies are the future of this business. 10% -15% of the companies in the world use technology, the rest still use traditional systems. Brands need to insist on the use of sustainable technologies in their countries and laws need to be toughened. Thus, I think the remaining 85% of the companies will switch to mechanization. Because the reduction of water resources, the change of seasons, the use of chemicals too heavily are developments that push mechanization and technology too much in our sector and create its future. That’s why I see the future of the denim sector very positive.”
