Odesi Director Bedil Uzmanoğlu said, “Troublesome situations, which we know are temporary, do not affect our investment and R&D activities. With the completion of our new production building in mid-2024, we will serve our customers in a more modern structure.”
Odesi, which has been producing dyehouse and laboratory automation for textile enterprises for many years, has around 1300 systems operating in textile-based geographies from Mexico to Bangladesh. The company, which constantly works to improve its position at the top of the market, has always received positive comments from its customers regarding the performance and quality of the systems it offers since the first years of its establishment. Continuing to be a successful and reliable partner for its business partners, Odesi offers high value-added, easy-to-use and environmentally friendly products. The company strives to increase its customers’ trust in the Odesi brand by making its after-sales services more dynamic; It will serve its customers in a more modern structure with its new production building, which it plans to complete in mid-2024.
We interviewed with Odesi Director Bedil Uzmanoğlu for the special issue of ‘Turkish Textile Machinery Industry’. Uzmanoğlu talked about changes in customer demands, sustainable and digital product portfolios, 2023 sales and 2024 expectations.
Can you give information about your export markets and overseas structure? Which countries do you export to? What kind of work are you carrying out to increase export markets?
We work dynamically with our representatives both at home and abroad to promote our products and listen to the demands of our customers. We follow exhibitions in important countries and participate as much as possible. We export to every market where textile is available, from Mexico to Bangladesh. We are happy to see the export figures we targeted, despite the prices changing due to recent diseases, wars and disruptions in the supply of raw materials. We aim to carry this success into the coming years. We continue to have a structure that can respond to customer demands more quickly with our sales and marketing units serving the foreign market. In addition; we continue to work to explore new markets and increase our brand awareness in our existing markets.
“Our Unmanned Dark Laboratory System is in High Demand”
What kind of changes have occurred recently in the demands of textile machinery users, especially in automation systems and precision dosing units? As Odesi, how do you respond to these demands?
Of course, there have been and continue to be changes in demands and request over the years. But the most important demand of recent years; It was about developing machines and systems that work “without the need for humans” as much as possible. The personnel problem, which is on everyone’s agenda, has exhausted businesses and everyone is looking for a way out. Since we saw this problem coming before, we developed “Unmanned Dark Laboratory” systems. These efforts have started to yield results and we are receiving very high demand from our customers. Systems like the one we produce are developed in the factory with the user. We have experienced this and seen its importance in every newly developed machine. For this reason, we always allow our customers’ demands and wishes to develop our machines and work with them. We have new projects over time and we plan to develop these new systems and offer them to our customers.
Considering that there is an energy crisis and water scarcity is not far away, what kind of measures do you take for environmentally friendly, sustainable production? How environmentally friendly and sustainable are your products?
First of all, the systems we produce play a significant role in making our customers’ production processes environmentally friendly. We reduce the use of chemicals, ensure correct dyeing at once, and contribute to environmentally friendly businesses by reducing water, chemical and energy consumption. We work for a sustainable and environmentally friendly production process by reducing water and energy use, reducing waste, and turning to the use of green energy in our own production process.
Digitalization is essential for the future of a sustainable industry. What are your digitalized solutions as a company? Can you talk about the advantages these products provide to users?
Monitoring the production and consumption of factories is essential for sustainability. We offer solutions to our customers with the energy monitoring software, process monitoring software and laboratory monitoring and management software we produce for this purpose. Thanks to these products, businesses are informed of everything happening in their processes and have the opportunity to intervene immediately. They can take action based on the data realized at the end of the period. They can analyze their businesses correctly, so they can make the right decisions about their businesses.
“The Year 2023 Was Successful for Odesi”
As Odesi, what do you offer to your customers in terms of after-sales services?
Instead of working with the principle of producing the most affordable product for users, we use the production principle that aims to create products that know what they are doing and work smoothly. Since the day we were first established, we have always received appreciation from our customers because we have succeeded in producing systems aimed at the most accurate, efficient and quality use. We should also mention the efforts of our employees who have been doing their job correctly for years in this success. The experience of our technical managers always gives confidence to our customers. In addition, our representatives representing us abroad are in contact with our customers at all times. We strive with our entire team to ensure that this success continues to develop further.
How was 2023 for your company? Can you evaluate it with your machine sales and export figures?
Although the last quarter of 2023 was a little slower, we can say that it was generally a successful year and the goals were achieved. We have already been continuing with increasing momentum in the domestic market for years, and this is also valid for 2023. In addition, we have increased our exports by 90% compared to 2022. Considering the overall situation, we can say that 2023 was a successful year for Odesi.
“We are trying to carry our brand to countries where textile is newly developing”
As Odesi, what are your expectations and goals for 2024? Will you have new product and investment efforts in the near future?
We are aware of the problems that will arise in trade around the world at the end of this year and in the new year, and we make plans accordingly. We are trying to move our brand to countries where textile is newly developing. As always, we will take our place in international fair organizations and introduce our innovative products with our representatives. Difficult situations that we know are temporary do not affect our investment and R&D activities. With the completion of our new production building in mid-2024, we will serve our customers in a more modern structure. We will demonstrate our difference in the new year by integrating new technologies into our products within the scope of our ongoing R&D activities on our products.
“We will Exhibit the Products We Developed with the Latest Technologies at ITM 2024”
How are you preparing for the ITM 2024 Exhibition?
ITM exhibitions add excitement to exhibitors and visitors at every stage. It is also an important platform for us to find the opportunity to host our guests from abroad in our country. We aim to exhibit our products developed with the latest technologies at the ITM 2024. We think that it will be a productive fair where we will explain our difference to our customers who will make new investments and will have the opportunity to discuss what they should pay attention to when choosing products. In addition, it will give us pleasure to listen to our customers’ demands and explain the most suitable systems for them. In addition, we will have the opportunity to meet with our customers who use our systems.
