Göksel Şahin, Chairman of the Board of Pnosan Group, said: “Pnosan Group has a structure that grows gradually and improves itself as it grows. In this direction, we have set a growth target of 30% in 2024. We foresee becoming a well-known and preferred brand in the world by 2030.”
Founded in 1994 as a small business in Tekirdağ – Çorlu, Pnosan Group operates in the field of steam armatures, valves, steam pressure reducers and other flow control products. The company celebrates its 30th anniversary in the sector with its new factory built on an area of 8500 m2 in Çorlu. We interviewed with Göksel Şahin, Chairman of the Board of Pnosan Group, for the special issue of ‘Turkish Textile Machinery Industry’ in our Tekstil Teknoloji magazine. Şahin talked about export markets, after-sales services, the benefits of its products to the customers and their targets and plans for 2024.
What is the position of Pnosan Group in the steam armatures, control valves and steam pressure reducers market today?
Our focus is mainly on proportional control valves and direct-acting steam pressure reducing valves. We have made serious investments in these products and presented our products to customer experience. We are getting positive feedback on this issue and we have rolled up our sleeves to move faster in automation in the coming period. Our proportional control valves, which have a quality in European standards, have carried the prestige and recognition of our brand to a different point. When we examine these products in terms of the Turkish valve sector, they help the transfer and control of steam, hot water, hot oil and similar fluids, which are produced in order to consume less energy in the enterprises and help the transfer of the energy produced, without any loss for the needs of the system.
Pressure reducing valves are designed for use in lines with steam, compressed air or other non-flammable industrial gases. This product is ideal for the decreasing pressure in high pressure gas phase fluids. As it is known, in the industrial sector, fluids are transferred through high pressure lines in order to gain advantages in terms of cost and time. Then, depending on the place of use, these pressures have to be reduced and stabilised for process efficiency and safety. For this reason, industrial organisations need pressure reducers. This product can be used in the system or at the main inlet of the machine according to the need. The most important feature of NST-Nordsteam pressure reducers is that we can realise production according to the pressure setting areas given to us.

Can you give information about your export markets?
We are moving step by step towards our targets with our brands in our country and in the global market. We have included our new targets in our steady and determined progress that we have achieved our targets set in the past periods. The recognition of our brands, which we produce with domestic and national facilities, and the trust in our company are increasing day by day.
We are currently actively exporting to approximately 30 countries with our world-class production. It is very proud for us to increase this number day by day and to become a more recognised and preferred company in the international market. Our goal is to transform the existing industrial valves with our products by providing flow control all over the world in the future.
What kind of changes have recently occurred in the demands of textile machinery users? How do you respond to these demands as Pnosan Group?
Our NST-Nordsteam branded flow control equipment has a very important position in the textile machinery industry. We have a product range that can meet all the needs in the installation of a textile dye house. Since textile machinery and machinery manufacturers are currently increasing their exports, we are having a good period depending on them. In 2024, we believe that we will exceed our expectations with this mobility.

What measures do you take for environmentally friendly and sustainable production? How environmentally friendly and sustainable are your products?
Pnosan Group’s products and product groups meet ISO standards thanks to the tests applied. It allows you to replace unnecessary energy used due to old and classical systems with energy efficiency control. The operating conditions of our products help you to save energy. The special feature of our proportional control valves is that they provide 100% (CLASS VI) sealing. As a company, we guarantee our customers in this regard and thanks to 100% sealing, companies provide serious energy savings. If there is a steam leakage in the enterprise, it is unthinkable to regain energy. Therefore, precautions must be taken. We show the importance we attach to energy efficiency with 100% (CLASS VI) leakage guarantee on our proportional control valves.
We are rapidly moving towards becoming a world brand with our future-orienting brand NST-Nordsteam products. With our wide range of TSE-approved products that have successfully passed all quality-control tests, we have provided and continue to provide support to the enterprises that prefer us to make quality production for years. What do you offer to your customers as Pnosan Group in terms of after-sales services and services?
We have a full 30-year history in the sector. And we can still see that some of the employees in the technical departments of the plants cannot connect the condensers correctly, do not know how a proportional control valve works in detail or cannot make a good connection of a pressure reducer. Taking this into consideration, we have established the NST Academy under our Corporate Communications department. We will first address these issues in our in-house trainings. Afterwards, we will share our academic knowledge with our sector and stakeholders with more training topics in our external trainings. In addition, since we are involved in the process from the first stage to the last stage of production, we have the control of the whole process in our hands. For this reason, we carry out all our after-sales services with the same meticulousness.
We have a company structure that believes in the power of communication. We pay attention to establishing a strong bond with our customers by staying in contact with them after sales as well as before sales. With its proactive and personalised CRM system, our company also makes special integrations for the problems experienced. We also endeavour to make their lives easier by offering user-friendly systematic solutions.

How was 2023 for your company? Can you evaluate it?
With the gradual return to normal after the negative fluctuation created by the Covid in the field of economy and trade in the recent past, trade activities between countries have started to resume from where they left off. As a company, we participated as much as possible in fair organisations held both in Turkey and abroad. In general, we experienced a noticeable increase in the demand for our brands and their products in 2023.
What are your expectations and targets for 2024 as Pnosan Group?
Pnosan Group has a structure that grows and improves itself as it grows. In this direction, we have set a growth target of 30%. We anticipate to become a well-known and preferred brand in the world by 2030. We will continue to grow, develop and add value to our country with our trained and expert staff with the knowledge, knowledge and experience that years have added to us.
“We have already started our preparations for ITM 2024”
As Pnosan Group, how are you preparing for the ITM 2024 Exhibition? What can you say about the contributions of the ITM Exhibition to the sector?
Yes, ITM is one of the well-known and well-attended exhibitions of our sector, which we always attend with excitement… We meet new stakeholders every time we attend and present our product range to the taste of exhibitors from all over the world. We have already started our preparations for ITM 2024. Based on our experiences in the past years, we are confident that it will be a productive organisation for our company.
