Interview:Dilek Hayırlı
Odesi General Manager Bedil Uzmanoğlu said, “We plan to develop new products and technologies within the scope of our R&D studies for 2025. In the first quarter of 2025, we will launch the new model ‘Laboratory Dispensing System’. We believe that this product will attract attention and create a great impact in the market with both the price and the innovative technology it offers.”
Odesi General Manager Bedil Uzmanoğlu, with whom we interviewed for our Tekstil Teknoloji magazine, evaluated the year 2024 and explained their targets for 2025. Stating that they had a successful year despite global inflation and increasing costs, Uzmanoğlu explained that they did not experience any decrease in production volumes, on the contrary, they recorded a 30% increase in export figures compared to the previous year thanks to their efficiency-oriented work.
“Our Exports Increased by 30% Compared to the Previous Year”
As you know, 2024 was a year of problems such as cost increase, price imbalance and inflation in the textile industry as in all sectors. How was 2024 for your company? Can you evaluate it with your production volume and export figures?
In 2024, we had a successful year as Odesi despite the challenges in the textile industry and around the world. While factors such as global inflation, price instability and increasing costs affected many companies across the industry, we, as Odesi, managed to turn this period into an opportunity with our strong strategies. We did not experience any decrease in our production volume, on the contrary, we optimized our operational processes thanks to our efficiency-oriented efforts. As a result, we recorded a 30% increase in our export figures in 2024 compared to the previous year. This is an indicator of the trust of our customers and the high quality of our products in a year of financial difficulties. The year 2024 presented us with new opportunities to develop innovative solutions, while reminding us to move forward strongly. In 2025, we aim to continue this momentum and achieve even greater success.
In our previous interview, you said that you will move to your new production building in 2024. How has this investment contributed to your production processes and the quality of your products?
In 2024, we had stated that we would move to our new production building, but due to the delay in construction permits, we postponed the move until mid-2025. Our new building will have modern production lines, a more efficient production area and advanced technology infrastructures. This investment will both make our production processes more efficient and take our product quality one step further. We are looking forward to moving in with excitement. In our new building, we aim to be able to produce faster and more flexibly thanks to the larger and technologically equipped areas. This will enable us to offer faster deliveries and higher quality to our customers in both local and global markets.
Competition in the textile machinery market has increased. What kind of a differentiation strategy does Odesi follow in this intense competitive environment and how do you think this strategy will evolve in the future?
In order to survive and stand out in the intense competitive environment in the sector, we have constantly focused on developing innovative solutions. This has not only improved the quality of our products but also enabled us to quickly adapt to the changing needs of our customers. At Odesi, we prioritize the functionality, efficiency and ease of use of the products we offer to our customers. In particular, we have differentiated ourselves from other competitors thanks to our industry leadership in laboratory dispensing system. This product has become the choice of many customers around the world for its high precision, durability and user-friendly features. We will continue to produce customer-oriented solutions, respond quickly to market demands and always offer the highest quality. With this strategy, we aim not only to stay ahead of the competition but also to become a player that shapes the industry.
Can you give concrete examples about the impact of the digital services you offer to your customers on productivity gains?
At Odesi, we know that offering digital services is crucial for increasing efficiency in business processes. Thanks to our strong and experienced in-house software team, we are able to perfectly integrate the software of the machines we produce with other systems. This integration allows our customers to manage their processes more quickly, efficiently and accurately.
As a concrete example, we can take the digital integrations in our paint shop automation systems. By integrating automation systems with management software for existing production lines, our customers can manage their production processes from a single platform. In this way, they can reduce both time and labor costs. In addition, the possibility of real-time data analysis and monitoring allows to continuously optimize the efficiency of the machines.
Another example is the software integration in our laboratory dispensing system. By connecting our dispensing systems with ERP control systems, our customers are able to measure with high accuracy and precision in every batch production. These digital solutions minimize human error and enable faster and more accurate results. As a result, errors in production processes are reduced and productivity increases significantly. Software and system integrations not only speed up processes but also improve quality and safety.
“We Can Provide Uninterrupted Support to Our Customers 24/7”
In a period when customer demands are changing rapidly, how do you aim to produce more dynamic and faster solutions in your service delivery processes? How do you strengthen your technological infrastructure in this regard?
In the market, we observe increasing demands for dyeing systems that enable more efficient use of water, and we meet customer needs by constantly innovating in this direction. Our aim is to provide effective and fast service to our customers without creating any victimization. For this purpose, thanks to our online service, we are able to provide uninterrupted support to our customers 24/7. This digital infrastructure allows us to intervene immediately in case of any problems, so that our customers’ production processes can continue without interruption.
As you know, by 2025, some of the obligations related to the Green Deal will have to be fulfilled. What kind of preparations are you making for this process?
Regarding the 2025 Green Deal, Odesi plans to take important steps to increase the use of green energy. We aim to optimize our production processes to increase energy efficiency and transition to renewable energy. We face challenges in aligning our current systems with environmental sustainability goals, but in the process we plan to reduce our energy costs by using alternative sources such as solar energy.
You operate in a wide geography from Mexico to Bangladesh. Are there any new markets you plan to focus on, especially in 2025? In which countries do you have special strategies to increase your brand awareness?
As Odesi, we operate in a wide geography from Mexico to Bangladesh and we aim to gain more market share by 2025. Especially the South American region stands out strategically. The textile industry in this region is growing rapidly and offers new market opportunities. In South America, we have accelerated our efforts to analyze the dynamics of the market in depth, especially in Brazil, to better understand the demands here and to develop appropriate solutions for these demands. Our goal for 2025 is to promote our brand worldwide by participating in international exhibitions and developing new collaborations. Exhibitions offer great opportunities both to strengthen our relationships with our existing customers and to enter new markets. In addition, through market research and local business partnerships, we better analyze the specific needs in each region and create strategies accordingly.
In 2025, do you plan to develop new products or technologies as part of your R&D activities? What will be the main differences of these products from other players in the textile industry? Do you have any new investment and cooperation projects?
Yes, we are planning to develop new products and technologies as part of our R&D activities for 2025 and we are very excited about this. In particular, we will launch a new model Laboratory Dispensing System in the first quarter of 2025. We believe that this product will attract attention and make a big impact in the market with both the price and the innovative technology it offers.
Our new model aims to make a significant difference in the market by offering a more efficient operation. Our product will have more user-friendly features compared to other alternatives in the sector and will offer faster and more effective solutions to our customers. These projects will be aimed at increasing our production capacity and introducing innovative technologies to the sector.
