“The Success of ITM 2022 Exceeded Our Expectations”
Ulaş Şeker, Mahlo Sales Manager
Mahlo participated in the ITM 2022 Exhibition with its long-time partner Masters Limited, which focuses on straightening and process control technologies for the growing Turkish textile market. A new generation of weft straightening machines, including the Orthopac RVMC-15 weft straightener, were introduced at the Mahlo booth. Mahlo Sales Manager Ulaş Şeker said that the exhibition was more intense than their expectations. Şeker, whom we interviewed for our Tekstil Teknoloji magazine, made evaluations about the ITM 2022 and the Turkish market.
What were the effects of coming together at the ITM 2022 Exhibition after a three-year hiatus on the industry?
During the pandemic period, customers and manufacturers had to stay away from each other. ITM 2022 which was postponed twice, brought everyone together that it took place, and as we can clearly see, people missed coming together and seeing new technologies in place. I think this exhibition was very positive for every party.
Did ITM 2022 Exhibition meet your expectations?
I can say that the success of the exhibition exceeded our expectations. I can say that it went well both for our own companies and for our customers to whom we sell machinery and spare parts.
What were the products you introduced at the exhibition?
We introduced our new generation weft straighteners at the exhibition. Straightening machines ensure high fabric quality and thus avoid rejects. With process control systems, only what is necessary is consumed in terms of material and energy. In this way, a great contribution is made to prevent the waste of raw materials. Also as Mahlo; We attach great importance to automation and digitalization. Mahlo systems communicate with each other and generate data that the customer can immediately use to control his goods on-line. In addition, these values are stored in the new data analysis tool mLog and can be called up at any time to optimize processes and minimize weak spots in the process.
Did you sign new collaborations at the exhibition?
In addition to hosting our customers at the exhibition, we met with a few companies suitable for the brands that we represent. Among these companies, we have added an Italian company to our product portfolio, and we will announce this soon.
How do you evaluate the developments in the Turkish market?
As we have experienced in recent days and according to our observations, we consider that there will be certain breakthroughs such as new investments in the denim field. With the new elastic fibers to be added to denim fabrics, unconventional products will come to the market and I think that denim companies in Turkey and abroad, especially companies in Pakistan, will invest in these. In terms of our company, with the effect of the pandemic, big manufacturers such as H&M have shifted their orders from China to the Middle East, especially to Turkey. We also think that these investments in our sector will continue and orders will flow here. We can expect a good picture for the next three or four years.
