Representatives of the Textile Industry and Academicians Meet for ‘Indigenization’
The symposium will be held in cooperation with the Union of Chambers of Turkish Engineers and Architects (TMMOB) Chamber of Textile Engineers (TMO) Bursa Branch, Bursa Uludağ University (BUÜ) Textile Engineering Department and Textile Machinery and Accessories Industrialists Association (TEMSAD).
Noting that there have been important developments in the field of technical textiles, garment and ready-to-wear in Turkey, Hale Gürler Chairman of the Bursa Branch of TMMOB Chamber of Textile Engineers said; “The biggest progress in the Turkish textile machinery manufacturing industry has been in the dyeing and finishing machinery sector. Our country constituted 75-80% of the exports, which reached 1 billion dollars. However, in other fields, textile machinery is mainly imported from abroad. Based on this, we are organizing the ‘National Textile Machinery and Systems Symposium’, which is planned to be held every 2 years in order to contribute to the development of our country’s textile machinery and technologies manufacturing industry. The symposium, which will be held with the slogan of ‘Direct the Textile with Your Own Technology’, will contribute to both the reduction of foreign dependency and the provision of textile export-import balance, as well as the development of the sector.
Textile Machinery Manufacturers and Academicians on the Same Platform
Bursa Uludağ University Faculty of Engineering and Architecture Textile Engineering Department Lecturer Prof. Dr. Recep Eren; Within the scope of the national symposium, we aim to bring together textile machinery manufacturers, textile and garment production industry and academicians on the same platform. We will organize an extremely beneficial event by focusing on market opportunities as well as current situation analysis of manufacturers and users.” said.

“We Can Achieve the Target of Indigenization with Public-University Support”
Adil Nalbant, President of the Textile Machinery and Accessories Industrialists Association, said that the textile industry, which has a strong and historical experience with the concept of ‘Direct the Textile with Your Own Technology’, can lead the world in its field with renewed technologies. “There is a potential in our industry in terms of knowledge, experience and passion. Countries that can master their own technology can make a difference with value-added production and direct all production processes and forms. We hope that the target of indigenization in Turkey, which started with the support of the textile industry and machinery manufacturers and the public-university, can be achieved.” Nalbant said.
