“The ITM 2026 Contributed to the Sector’s Renewed Momentum”
Malkan, a company operating in the field of ironing and pressing machines for the textile and apparel sector, attracted the attention of visitors with its innovative solutions exhibited at the ITM 2026 Exhibition. Malkan Foreign Trade Manager Metin Kılıç stated, “The ITM 2026 contributed to the sector’s renewed momentum.”
Malkan showcased its ironing systems, four-station carousel conveyor-type form finishing presses and fabric setting machines to fabric tension-relaxing systems and high-capacity steam boilers, specifically developed for garment and apparel manufacturers.
Malkan Foreign Trade Manager Metin Kılıç stated that ITM 2026 was an extremely important event for the sector, noting that despite global economic uncertainties, they observed a renewed dynamism in the markets. He added that the stagnation felt in the textile and apparel sector over the last two years has given way to a gradual recovery, emphasizing that the revival of markets, particularly in regions close to Türkiye, has had a positive impact on the sector. Stating that ITM 2026’s international structure has made significant contributions to the sector, Kılıç said, “Organizations of this size and international scale invigorate the markets. ITM 2026 is one of the important platforms contributing to the sector regaining momentum.”
Highlighting ITM 2026’s global reach, Kılıç noted that they observed strong participation from North Africa, the Middle East, Central Asia, and South Asia at the exhibition. He stated that industry professionals from many countries, primarily Uzbekistan, Kyrgyzstan, Pakistan, and India, met in Istanbul, and that visitors also came from Eastern European countries. While noting that participation from the region was limited due to the Russia-Ukraine war, Kılıç added that despite this, the activity in markets close to Türkiye was strongly reflected in the fair.

Malkan is trying to overcome the recent stagnation in the sector through its emphasis on exports and technology investments. The company is focusing on new product development as well as international brand acquisition projects. Kılıç announced that they have acquired a German brand within this scope and stated that they are also evaluating new acquisition opportunities for leading brands in the sector in the coming period.
Stating that the meetings held during ITM 2026 progressed positively, Kılıç expressed his expectation that the meetings after the exhibition would turn into orders and collaborations. Sharing their investment plans for the coming years, Kılıç announced that they are working on new factory and production facility investments, as well as projects to open showrooms and offices in different countries. Stating that Malkan has growth targets not only in the field of textile technologies but also in the automation and elevator systems sector, Kılıç added that they plan to implement many new investments in the next two to three years.
