If it passes these tests, we can call this mask a highly protective surgical mask. Otherwise, you cannot sell this product under the name of surgical mask. This would just be a face protection mask.” he said.

Necip Güney describes the features of the right type mask as follows. “The right type of mask needs to swell when you breathe. There is a filtering feature in the middle layer of it. Therefore, pay attention to the thickness of the mask, open the mask and see if there is any fabric in the middle that provides the filter feature. In addition, the weight of the right type of mask is also important. In our exports to many countries, masks which are used 80-90 gram fabric are demanded. This is the world standard in mask weight, 50-60 gram masks should not be used. Polyester fabric should not be used in the mask. In other words, polyester-based fabric does not protect you in the mask. Since the polyester-based fabric also does not have anti-allergen properties, it causes allergies in some customers.”
