For 73 years, Bossa continues to be one of the leading brands in the denim fabric and sportswear industry with its collaborations with trend-setting brands that shape the fashion of the world. Bossa Chairman İsrafil Uçurum said; “Bossa shares have been traded on Borsa Istanbul since 1995 and we have a very strong corporate structure. Last year, we were among Turkey’s 100 most valuable brands in Brand Finance’s research. We became the most valuable brand in the textile category. JCR Eurasia Rating announced the long-term national rating of our company as A (tr). We were included in the Istanbul Chamber of Industry’s Turkey’s Top 500 Industrial Enterprises Survey and the Turkish Exporters Assembly’s Top 1000 in Exports list.
Uçurum said that one of the most powerful aspects of Bossa is its widespread sales network and customers all over the world.
Uçurum continued as follows: “While recycling was not on the agenda, we produced the first 100% recycle denim fabric under the name Rebirth. We attach great importance to supporting sustainable cotton production. Together with our brands, we plant organic, regenerative cotton. Recycled fibre production continues at full speed in our new facility, which was commissioned together with cotton fibre. We are increasing the rate of recycled fibre usage in each collection.”
Bossa Signed Many Firsts in Denim Production
Attaching great importance to environmental sustainability and accelerating its investments to become a zero waste company, Bossa aims to meet all of its energy needs from renewable energy sources. With its completely ecological Re-Set collection, Bossa, which is one of the pioneering companies in the textile sector both in Turkey and in the world, has achieved many firsts in denim production.
Bossa saves energy with cogeneration systems that recover the thermal energy generated while generating electricity in its facilities. In addition, the company, which commissioned the rooftop Solar Power Plant with an installed capacity of 11,737 kilowatts, prevented 8 million 452 thousand 158 kg of greenhouse gas emissions per year with 29 thousand 214 efficient solar panels. Bossa, which currently meets 50 per cent of its total energy needs with roof and land SPP investments, plans to meet 100 per cent of this need with renewable energy sources with other energy investments.
The company, which is taking firm steps towards becoming a zero waste company with the projects to be carried out in terms of sustainability, has reached 100% capacity by realising the recycling facility investment. The company, which achieved 92% water saving in the dyeing of products with the “Saveblue” concept, also achieved 99 percent recovery in the amount of wastewater in this dyeing process and carried the savings to the highest levels.
