Şirikçioğlu’s 2024 Export Target; 150 Million Dollars
Şirikçioğlu Mensucat, headquartered in Kahramanmaraş, plans to manufacture 85 thousand tons of cotton yarn, 5 thousand tons of polyester yarn and 96 million meters of denim fabric in 2024. The export target of the company, which predicts a 60% increase in exports in 2024, is 150 million dollars.
Founded in 1996 in Kahramanmaraş, Şirikçioğlu Mensucat has made a name for itself as Şirikçioğlu Group by making investments in the energy, construction, retail, agriculture and livestock sectors as well as textiles. Şirikçioğlu Mensucat, which has an integrated structure with yarn, indigo dyeing, weaving and finishing enterprises in textile, is among the leading industrial groups of Turkey with 3 companies in the ISO Top 500 announced every year. Şirikçioğlu Mensucat Chairman of the Board of Directors Atıf Şirikçi evaluated the year 2023 in an interview with Ekonomim Newspaper and announced his targets for 2024.
Monthly Production of 10 Million Meters of Denim and Non Denim Fabric
Stating that they have been contributing to the economy of both Kahramanmaraş and Turkey by making production since 1996, Atıf Şirikçi said, “We have become one of the world’s leading manufacturers especially in the fields of denim and yarn. With its 4 thousand employees who add value to production in textile, which is its main field of activity, it produces 300 tons of yarn per day and 10 million meters of denim and non-denim fabric per month with its 162000 spindle ring, 20692 rotor open end, 2632 spindle texturized yarn production capacity in 22 different enterprises in the fields of ring, open end, texturized yarn, poy, raw weaving, non denim and denim weaving.”
On February 6, after the earthquake disaster, Şirikçi stated that they quickly recovered from their wounds and started to work at full capacity and made statements about their 2024 targets: “In 2023, production volume dropped between February and July due to the earthquake. There was a 25% volumetric decrease throughout the year. In 2024, we expect a 30% increase in volume. For 2024, we anticipate a 60% increase in exports. This year, we invested in a 22 MW Rooftop SPP. Ten percent of Şirikçioğlu Group’s total electrical energy consumption is met here. In 2024, we plan to produce 85 thousand tons of cotton yarn, 5 thousand tons of polyester yarn and 96 million meters of denim fabric. We have an export target of 150 million dollars. We have an investment plan for self-consumption on 24 MW of land, which we plan to complete in 2024.”
Stating that they currently export directly to 55 countries, Şirikçi said; “The share of exports in total sales is 25%. We aim to increase this amount above 35%.”
“We will provide 25% of our production from sustainable energy”
Stating that they prioritize energy and zero waste production areas while making R&D investments, and that they are targeting R&D investments with minimum waste and lower energy consumption that bring their businesses to the forefront in the coming days, Atıf Şirikçi finally said the following: “We care about the use of sustainable fibers, we use sustainable fibers in our products as much as possible; organic, recycle, regenerative, raw materials such as BCI. We reduce carbon emissions. We ensure the installation of solar energy panels on our business roofs and we will provide 25 percent of our production from sustainable energy. We carry out projects to reduce water and energy use within the company. Within the framework of the Green Covenant, solar energy systems and water reduction projects are ongoing.”
