Epson to Continue Innovations in the Textile Industry

Making an indelible impression with its initiatives and preparing to many more improvements, Epson’s Commercial and Industrial Products Channel Manager of Turkey, Ersel Şamiloğlu, evaluated the past year, and shared his notes on the Turkish market and the textile industry. Here’s Ersel Şamiloğlu’s interview for Tekstil Teknoloji Magazine.

What are the latest developments in textile printing machines at Epson?
At Epson, we introduced the F9300 sublimation textile model machine at the beginning of 2018, and a few months ago we also introduced the F2100 DTG cotton t-shirt direct printer.
The F9300 is developed as our latest technology in line with the expectations from our customers. With this model that we call our  new flagship, it is possible to print on garments, textiles and soft signs as well as other commercial products in a fast and high volume. The new SureColor SC-F9300 is a dye sublimation printer. We have further developed the technology of our previous model, which gives the new F9300 higher quality and greater reliability.

The new Epson Precision Dot technology for dye sublimation, including a Half Tone module, lookup tables and micro-weaving, helps make a difference in print quality, and it makes it easier to get quality results as the product comes out of the box. In addition, Epson’s extensive CMYK input profile combines

UltraChrome DS inks to deliver the maximum color gamut that can be achieved to accurately create even the most complex designs in print. Offering a print speed of up to 108.6 sqm/hour, SC-F9300 has advanced retrieval and other security features to eliminate common problems such as wrinkling and headstrokes. For the F9300, we can say the machine itself is a complete Epson solution consisting of printers, inks, sublimation papers and a software, which maximizes uptime, because all components in our products are produced by us. SureColor SC-F9300 has Oeko-Tex Eco Passport certification, and has passed the AZO test for Japan’s household products. So there is no harms in wearing of clothes and textiles, including by babies and children, produced by using UltraChrome DS inks on this printer.

I would also like to mention the F2100 cotton t-shirt direct printer. The F2100 DTG T-shirt and promotional printing machine is a Direct To Garment T-Shirt printer, which offers high productivity and quality. If you are going to produce a promotional T-shirts, you don’t need to look for anything other than the Epson SureColor F2100. With the QR code we place on the machine, you can watch your regular maintenance visually from your phone. A new feature added to the SureColor F2100 is the white ink cycle system. I would like to tell a little about this new feature. Since the white ink has a fast freezing and drying feature, the printer always needs a circulation and rinsing while it is not printing. In this process, the ink goes to the waste tank in such printers. However, we do not allow the ink to go to the waste tank.

Instead, the ink goes back into the direct ink tank, so the white ink is not used. This saves users a lot of money. You can also reduce your costs with new printing modes.

Could you give us information about the Epson’s past 1 year in Turkey market and its current location?

Turkey’s textile market is constantly renewing itself and developing. With the exporting companies in Turkey being in a majority, the textile market is having a continuous development. The digital textile printing market has to be supported by the latest technology products, which sustain a constant renewal. With the textile printers we produce according to the ever-changing needs, we meet the needs of manufacturers in the best way and we will continue doing so. We will continue boasting to be the market leader with the new products we offer with 100% Epson design and production.

What are the innovations to be developed on textile printing machines and what are Epson’s evaluations for the textile industry?

As in every industry, the core points in our business are high capacity in production, ability to create different works with the same machine and expecting simultaneous quality, i.e. productivity. This year we launched sales of two new textile printers in Turkey, as I mentioned above. There is another significant issue other than the advantages we offer with SC-F9300 and the SC-F2100. After the acquisition of Robustelli, Epson has expanded its product range in the industrial field. Our latest model, Monna Lisa Evo Tre meets all the needs of our customers using 5 different inks. Our inno- vations will always faciliatet meeting the needs in the textile market and expanding the market.
