“I Believe Manufacturers in Gaziantep to be Capable to Meet the Need for Protective Masks and Clothes”
Important steps are being taken in modern facilities for the production of protective masks, clothes and equipment which are one of the most efficient ways to protect against the coronavirus, that threatens human health. Becoming a production base of nonwoven fabric production, Gaziantep started work for mask production.
Ahmet Fikret Kileci, Coordinating Chairman at GAIB (Southeastern Anatolia Exporters Association) noted that Turkey holds an important place in production of health care equipment and stated that new steps are being been taken especially in the production of protective masks, clothes and equipment, and investments in this area will continue to increase.
Coordinating Chairman Ahmet Fikret Kileci said in his assessment that “Turkey is running ahead of many countries with the significant steps it has taken in the manufacture of medical supplies. Today, there will be no problem in our country in the production of protective masks, which affect become a necessity as part of the measures taken against the coronavirus that seriously threatens all humanity. In Gaziantep, our capacity suffices to meet all the needs of our country in nonwoven fabric production. Many textile companies cotinue production 24 hours a day. In the coming period, production of protective masks and overalls will exceed what is necessary in our country. We will even come to the position of exporting these products to the countries that need them. In this regard, we have arranged the coordination necessary with the Ministry of Health. We maintain communication with the Ministry’s USHAŞ company. I believe that textile manufacturers in Gaziantep will meet the need for protective masks and clothes by continuing the necessary production in fully hygienic environments with fully automated machinery in the upcoming period. The current show that domestic production in the health industry to meet our needs has become a national issue just as in the defense industry. It has become an obligation for each of us to produce in its own industry with the latest technology, knowledge and equipment.”
