İnta Makina Contributes to Yarn Industry with All Its Distributorships
Being one of the leading represent- ative company in the Turkish textile industry, İnta Makina Textile Machinery Distributorship was founded by Fehmi Ayverdi. İnta Makina currently represents large globally-renowned yarn manufacturing companies such as Loepfe and Amsler TMT. The majority of Turkey’s spinning mills use Murata winders, represented by İnta Makina. The service and repair laboratory, started in 2004 in Kahramanmaraş, has expanded over the years, and continues to serve as a showroom and a branch office of İnta Makina in the region. We offer our esteemed readers an interview with Tolga Baydar, General Manager of İnta Makina, that operates with the basic values of providing an honest, accurate and fast service.
Can you tell us how 2018 was for you by evaluating your yarn, quality control and test equipment manufacturers which you represent as İnta Makina? What investments have you focused on, and what have been the primary factors in choosing brands under your distribution network?
We can say that the year 2018 has gone well beyond expectations. The experienced and powerful companies in the Turkish textile industry grow stronger thanks to their product diversity and flexible structures that can adapt to the conditions in the global markets. Last year, especially for the yarn industry, modernization projects were more prominent than growth. The factories that want to maintain their competitiveness have renewed their old machines, that had gone old. Murata QPRO Plus and Traverse FPRO Plus winders continue to be the most preferred coil machine for ring mills. On the other hand, investments on the Murata Vortex machines, which provide technological and economic advantages in addition to the most common yarn production technology, have also accelerated this year. In these investments, the advantages of Vortex yarns as well as the expansion of varieties and areas of use, and the advantages of pilelessness and friction resistance, have been recognized by the customers, which made a significant difference. On the other hand, the companies Textechno and Lenzing Instruments, which manufacture test and control devices for spinning laboratories, continue to develop in this field with their continuous innovations. Especially Textechno, which dominates the market in filament yarn laboratories, continues its growth in staple fiber yarns. Textechno also entered this market with its new devices for composite materials, which we anticipate a rapid development in Turkey in the coming year. We have also reached the sales figures we forecast in our accessory brands such as Amsler shantung and core yarns, Loepfe electronic cleaners, Reiners + Fürst claps and rings, and Reseda Binder paraffins.
What are your expectations for 2019? What do you forecast? What direction will the new investments in yarn production have? Could you tell us about the 2019 targets for your company and the companies you represent?
As in 2018, 2019 will also be a year with a strong focus on modernization projects. Exchange rate fluctuations and stabilization of economic conditions will accelerate these projects. As far as we follow, the flexible structure of our companies enables them to adapt to all kinds of conditions, and many companies continue to grow stronger. In particular, I think that Vortex projects, that have lower investment costs and higher returns, will continue.
Will there be new technologies to be introduced in 2019 for the companies you represent? Could you tell us about these?
Since the ITMA Barcelona exhibition will take place this year, there will be important innovations in almost all of our companies. Some companies will introduce completely new machines/devices. In others, we expect new generation machines and technological developments.
What do you think about the Turkish yarn industry? For example, are the investments and capacity be sufficient, and in what direction should the future investments in technology be made?
The İnta Makina and the textile industry in general cover a very important business area for the Turkish economy. Because all our textile exports are made, whether garments, finished products, or fabric and other intermediate products, all of them need yarn. Although there has been a significant growth in the last five years, yarns are still imported and consumed. From this, we can simply understand that our yarn production is not enough. But, it is important to invest in high value-added yarns for diversification instead of rapid growth with flat products. In this sense, I think that Vortex technology will be more prominent.
