It is a Great Privilege to be able to Sell the Machines We Produce to the World Through ITM
TEMSAD President Adil Nalbant said that; “As domestic machinery manufacturers, we export to more than 100 countries. It is a great privilege to be able to present the machines we produce to buyers from all over the world at a fair organised in our own country.”
International Textile Machinery Exhibition ITM 2024 is organized by Teknik Fairs Inc. and Tüyap Tüm Fuarcılık Yapım Inc. in cooperation with Textile Machinery and Accessories Industrialists Association (TEMSAD). TEMSAD President Adil Nalbant said that Turkish machinery manufacturers are among the world leaders in the fields of textile dyeing and finishing machinery. The annual exports of domestic machinery manufacturers competing with the world are close to 1 billion dollars.
We interviewed with TEMSAD President Adil Nalbant for Tekstil Teknoloji magazine. The highlights of the interview are as follows:
How did Turkish textile machinery manufacturers prepare for ITM 2024 Exhibition?
As textile machinery manufacturers, we produce machines that are highly innovative with their equipment and design, and that comply with sustainability requirements. All kinds of R&D studies and design of these machines belong to domestic manufacturers. Many of our members are at a level to market the technology they produce worldwide.
Can you give examples of the machines and innovations introduced by Turkish companies at ITM 2024?
Our greatest strength is in textile dyeing and finishing machines. These are the machines that pollute the environment the most. Therefore, we produce in accordance with green consensus, carbon footprint and sustainability requirements. The machines produced by our friends have very low energy consumption, flue gas waste and water usage rates. Thus, they both meet the requirements put forward by some countries and offer more efficient production.
Why is ITM 2024 important for machine manufacturers?
ITM is one of the most important international shows in this field. Some of them are held every two years, others every four years. This year there are no exhibitions other than ITM. This is one of its most important features. Another one is that it is held in Istanbul.
This is the meeting point of the east and the west and the most countries have the opportunity to participate without visa problems. Istanbul is also an easily accessible location for textile manufacturers such as Uzbekistan, Egypt, Bangladesh, Pakistan, India and Indonesia.
What kind of opportunities do TEMSAD and its member companies expect from this organization?
As domestic machinery manufacturers, we export to more than 100 countries. It is a great privilege to be able to present the machines we produce to buyers from all over the world at a fair organised in our own country.
The slogan of this year’s exhibition is ‘Discover the Future!’ What are your predictions for the future of the textile industry?
The future of the textile industry is, in a sense, the future of the world. This profession will never end. Because there is no other material you can use instead of it. In fact, let me tell you that in the new generation airplanes, 55 percent of the airplanes are made of textiles. The whole body is made of carbon fiber. What we need to do to adapt to the future is to produce efficient machines that will make production sensitive to human life and the environment.
