“ITM 2024 Exhibition has brought vitality to the country’s economy and the sector”

Dekat Makina, which represents Maya Embroidery Machine, a South Korean company, exhibited its embroidery machine combined with embroidery + sieve + sequin and bead apparatus on a 25-meter chassis at ITM 2024. We had an interview with Ali Bozkan, owner of Dekat Makina, for our Tekstil Teknoloji magazine. Bozkan provided information about the product they exhibited at the fair and evaluated the contributions of ITM 2024 Exhibition to the sector.
Can you briefly give information about the products you highlighted at ITM 2024 Exhibition?
We participated in the ITM 2024 Exhibition with Maya Embroidery Machines, of which we are the representative. We exhibited our embroidery machine, which is different from standard embroidery machines in terms of pulley size, number of heads and speed, and combined with embroidery + strainer + sequin and bead apparatus on a 25-meter chassis used in the production of quantity fabric production, especially preferred by the evening dress and wedding dress industry.
What are the features that distinguish the product(s) you exhibited at the event from its competitors? What kind of benefits does it provide to its users?
Maya, which is the world leader in technology and proves this mission with the awards it has received in this field, produces machines with a capacity of 220 heads consisting of two separate chassis of 25 meters and 45 meters as well as machines with standard number of heads and processing area. At the exhibition, we presented our 25-meter 60-head non-standard machine with sieve, cordone, sequin and bead combinations in addition to normal embroidery to our visitors and sector representatives.
What are the latest trends in the embroidery industry? What kind of demands do your customers have from you regarding your machines?
Most of the fabrics used in the evening dress and wedding dress sector are imported from abroad. From time to time, disruptions in imports left the manufacturer and the sector in a difficult situation. As an alternative solution to this issue, it will have positive reflections on the market both in terms of motif options and fabric color options. Another advantage of the machine is its high production capacity. As you know; the whole world is going through a period of increasing competition, labor and raw material costs. This situation also puts fabric manufacturers in a difficult situation. Our machine has twice or even three or four times the production capacity of standard machines in the same time period, depending on the pattern processed. With these features, the advantages in production increase the competitive chances of the manufacturer on the one hand and the retailer on the other. As a result of the coordinated work we machine sellers have done with machine manufacturers, cut, cast beads and pearls, which have been used in product decoration by hand sewing for years, can now be prepared in automatic machines and mounted on the embroidery machine, faster, more robust, with unlimited color and pattern options. While production was carried out at a certain capacity with manual labor, now this negative situation has been completely eliminated. It will be indispensable for the ready-to-wear and wedding dress industry from now on.
Digitalization and automation are the most popular topics of the recent period. What kind of work does your company do in these areas? Can you share with us the developments regarding digitalization and automation in your products?
Today, digitalization should be active in both social and business life. Organizations need to follow and implement digital transformation in a sustainable sense in order to increase their competitiveness and to be one step ahead of their competitors in the market conditions of the future. At the same time; with digital transformation, many resources such as reporting and statistics are needed to be monitored for product promotion, customer portfolio, increasing productivity and quality in manufacturing. In this regard, digitalization will be the biggest assistant of businesses.
The slogan of ITM 2024 Exhibition this year was ‘Discover the Future’. What are your predictions for the future of the textile and apparel industry? How are you preparing for the future as a company? Digitalization, automation, sustainability etc… constitute important parameters in the future of textile. What kind of preparations and studies does your company make on these issues?
As Dekat, we follow and develop technology according to the demands and needs of our customers. With nearly 40 years of experience in the sector and continuous consultation and innovation studies with the R&D department of the factory, we act in line with the demands and requests of our customers. The 25 and 45-meter machines, which are the products of the latest studies, were determined according to the needs at the end of these studies. We are currently working on 300 heads and more after the current 220 heads.
As in all sectors, the textile machinery sector has been going through an economically turbulent period, especially in recent years. How did ITM 2024 contribute to the sector this year?
ITM 2024 Exhibition is an important business platform where industry professionals come together. Thanks to the machine sales and business partnerships of manufacturers from all over the world, it contributed greatly to the economy of the country and the sector and brought vitality. New technologies and industry trends were exhibited and visitors, institutions and companies gained vision.
How was ITM 2024 Exhibition for your company? What would you say if you evaluate it in terms of exhibitor and visitor diversity?
ITM 2024 Exhibition is one of the most important organizations in terms of enabling us to open up to new markets and making it easier for us to find markets. Visitors who are suitable for your business and in the right target audience turn into potential customers at the event. In addition to the opportunity to meet other companies in the sector, we had the opportunity to exhibit the latest trends and innovations in the sector and present them to the visitors. We had the chance to experience and observe new products, innovations and technological developments first hand. The same observations and experiences gained importance for the visitors because they will be able to develop new investments and capacity increase projects with the machinery and equipment they observed and experienced at this organization for the next two years.
