Lico Print: Unprecedented Colours with Epson
When Lico Print decides to combine classic fabrics with those on stretch fabrics, it finds a precious ally in Monna Lisa Evo Tre by Epson. Swimwear and sportswear acquire a new brilliance with Epson’s Genesta fluorescent Monna Lisa Evo Tre inks.
After more than 30 years of activity, Lico Print, company from the Como textile district specialized in the printing of stretch fabrics, swimwear and sportswear, is looking for a digital solution to assure unprecedented colours. The answer to this request is Monna Lisa Evo Tre by Epson, guarantee of reliability and high-performance productivity.
Lico Print looks to digital printing for several reasons, including the need for job splitting, savings on fixed costs, speed of sampling and, above all, the development of designs suitable for swimsuits and sportswear. Nowadays, these are the unique reference product sectors for the Tavernerio (CO) printing house.
Since they print on fabrics for the production of swimwear and sportswear, Lico Print is always looking for intense and high-impact colours. Thanks to Monna Lisa Evo Tre 16 channels, which offers a wider colour configuration, and the use of Genesta Fluorescent inks, which allow for more brilliant prints, Lico Print can finally effectively respond even to the most desired customers demanding.

Lico Print CEO, Mauro Livio
Lico Print CEO, Mauro Livio, said: “We adopted the first Monna Lisa to extend the fleet of our machines and provide an alternative to our existing solutions. After the successful experiment, it came naturally to keep choosing Epson-Robustelli. Our production is equally divided between traditional and digital, but digital accounts for 60 per cent of turnover. Out of 1.6 million metres of fabric printed annually, 800-900,000 are digitally printed. Counting on reliable and versatile solutions is essential and ensures success.”
After an initial start-up and sampling phase, Lico Print moved on to the first productions with very satisfactory results. In fact, the company is already thinking about the possibility of introducing a second Monna Lisa Evo Tre 16 channel with fluorescent colours to further increase production capacity.
Livio concluded: “Thanks to the use of Monna Lisa Evo Tre 16 channels fluorescent inks, we can offer to strategic customers brilliant colour samples, with a unique colour range which was unthinkable until now.”
Monna Lisa Evo Tre 32 – 16 canali: the first digital 16-colour fabric printer
Monna Lisa Evo Tre 32 16 channels is the latest evolution of the series, developed by Epson in partnership with F.lli Robustelli. It is the first digital printer that offers up to 16 color channels and a a range of colours that comes increasingly close to what is offered by traditional printing.
Capable of housing up to 16 different Genesta Acid sacks, this printer is characterized not only by the innovative proprietary Epson PrecisionCore printing technology, integrated for the first time in the Monna Lisa Evo Tre series, but also for the wide chromatic possibilities available, special colours and dedicated treatments included.
Alongside the traditional Genesta Acids inks (Yellow, Orange, Red, Magenta, Ruby, Blue, Cobalt, Cyan, Gray, Black), Monna Lisa Evo Tre 16 channels allows the use of Genesta Fluorescent (Flavina and Rosa) and the new Genesta Bruno and Marino, without sacrificing any basic color and improving the solidity and, consequently, the quality of the final product.
