Monforts Stands Out with Technological Innovations at SaigonTex and IGATEX 2025
Monforts showcased its latest and most efficient technologies at the SaigonTex and IGATEX trade exhibitions. At SaigonTex 2025, held in Ho Chi Minh City, Monforts focused on denim production and advanced finishing technologies. It also attracted attention at IGATEX 2025 in Karachi with innovative energy-saving solutions.
At both exhibitions, Monforts presented strong solutions to the challenges faced by manufacturers in the industry, with technologies that support sustainable production processes.
Monforts Focuses on Denim at SaigonTex 2025
At the SaigonTex 2025 textile machinery exhibition held in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam, from April 9-12, 2025, Monforts presented the benefits of advanced finishing technologies developed for denim.
Monforts’ over 900 Thermex hoflue dyeing systems are currently operational in major textile production countries, many of which are used in denim production and benefit from Econtrol® and Econtrol®T-CA processes.
Econtrol® is known as a continuous process developed for dyeing woven cotton and cellulosic fabrics, where reactive dyes are fixed to the fabric in a single step through a combination of steam and air-controlled drying. The entire pad-dry process takes only two to three minutes, carried out at temperatures between 120-130°C with a relative humidity volume of 25-30%.
Monforts’ globally successful denim series concepts allow fabrics to be stretched and skewed more gently compared to traditional machine combinations, making it possible to process high-quality and repeatable fabrics. The ‘double rubber’ version of the Thermex series includes two shrinkage units and two felt rollers for super-elastic and bio-elastic materials. Additionally, combined drying, stretching, and skewing functions for denim fabrics are possible with the ThermoStretch unit, which also features an EcoApplicator system to minimize the application of finishing chemicals.
Hans Wroblowski, Head of the Denim Division at Monforts, states, “These latest Monforts lines allow users to be extremely flexible and quickly respond to market demands while providing very short production conditions.”
In 2024, Vietnam became the world’s second-largest textile and garment exporter after China, with total export revenues reaching $44 billion. This is partly due to lower customs duties, which are currently 10-20% lower than those in China, and labor costs that are less than half of China’s.
As Vietnam’s textile and garment industry is set to grow further in 2025, thanks to cost advantages and quick production turnaround times, it is adopting a proactive approach to manage rising logistics costs and adapt to changing trade dynamics.
Hans Wroblowski adds, “Vietnam is currently an important market for us, and we have developed long-term, mutually trusting relationships with many leading textile manufacturers. Peja Vietnam has proven to be an excellent partner in the installation and commissioning of Monforts machines, with their service team working closely with our engineers to ensure the machines meet every customer’s expectations. We look forward to having productive discussions at SaigonTex.”
Focus at IGATEX 2025: Energy Saving
At the IGATEX 2025 textile machinery exhibition held in Karachi, Pakistan, from April 24-26, 2025, Monforts will introduce its latest development, the Universal Energy Tower, to visitors.
This stand-alone air/air heat exchanger module recovers heat from the exhaust air flow of thermal systems, such as Thermex dyeing machines with stenters and infrared predriers. It saves up to 25% of energy, depending on exhaust air volume and operating temperature.
The Energy Tower features an integrated fresh air fan with speed control, facilitating easy access to heat exchanger modules for cleaning, and includes a large condensate collection tank and a fiber filter. It also visualizes real-time temperature and maintenance intervals.
The Universal Energy Tower is part of a series of modular upgrades that can be integrated into the company’s existing finishing lines and create a significant impact on production processes. These upgrades make a substantial difference in an operator’s operational costs.
Monforts Area Sales Manager Manfred Havenith says, “Monforts machines are known for their robustness and long service lives, but certain modules with new control and drive technology for recycling—much more than just spare part replacements—can have a big impact on the performance of an existing line. This is particularly true when it comes to energy savings. Compared to a new machine, upgrades are low-cost investments that provide clear benefits.”
Additionally, the Matex Eco Applicator can offer significant energy savings in finishing processes and fabric drying by providing an alternative to the traditional padding process. The correct amount of finishing chemicals is applied to the fabric, and after the application, the fabric has approximately 35% less moisture, reducing the drying capacity needed in the stenter, which leads to major energy savings.
Finishing chemicals can be applied evenly to both sides of the fabric, allowing separate treatments on the front and back surfaces. This feature provides an ideal solution for producing double-performance hydrophobic/hydrophilic fabrics for professional apparel, as well as re-dyeing or finishing denim fabrics.
Manfred Havenith continues, “Other general recycling options in our modular upgrade program include a clip opener for the Montex stenter; this reduces wear on the clip table and blades at chain deflation points. It also ensures a quieter operating environment, as the clips open and close smoothly.”
“Moreover, updating a machine’s HMI with new 19-inch compact OS Windows PCs and frequency converter options can modernize the machine technically and reduce downtime. With over 140 years of experience, Monforts maintains its position as the right partner in the industry to support recycling, sustainability, and energy savings.”
Monforts continues to receive significant repeat orders from Pakistan’s large integrated textile manufacturers. These manufacturers prefer Monforts machines for both entering new markets and diversifying their operations. Customers in the major cities of Karachi, Lahore, and Faisalabad include all major players in home textiles and denim production.
Manfred Havenith concludes, “These companies rely on our established technologies such as Montex stenter equipment, Monfortex sanforizing units, and Thermex dyeing lines. As they target new markets in today’s highly competitive industry, we continue to assist them in developing advanced fabrics with trials and optimized processing parameters both at their facilities and at our Advanced Technology Center (ATC) in Germany.”
