Santex Rimar Group: The Participation at ITM 2020 Confirms Our Strong Local Commitment
Santex Rimar Group is one of the leading players in the world market of the machine manufacturers for weaving, textile finishing, technical textiles and green technologies.
As a technology partner for weaving, knitted, woven fabrics and green solutions, the Group started as different companies that in 2015 merged into Santex Rimar Group: Smit is globally recognized as a forerunner in weaving technology; Cavitec and Isotex lead the technical textile machinery market; Santex and Sperotto Rimar produce machinery for the textile finishing; Solwa provides eco-friendly machinery for water treatment and waste management.
In a new era where sustainability and the speed of the production processes are the hardest challenges and, at the same time, the biggest opportunities to develop new business models, Santex Rimar Group offers new solutions for the textile industry.
With the new Smit 2FAST rapier weaving machine it is possible to achieve the best fabric construction at the highest speed and with the lowest stress for the yarns thanks to the longest beating time during weaving.
The silky and smooth touch of the fabrics combined with a natural stretch effect on the fabric warp are only some of the high added value results of a new compacting concept based on a revolutionary system with incredible results in terms of elasticity: Compas is the new open width compacting and finishing machine produced by Sperotto Rimar for both knitted and woven fabrics.
We interviewed with Simone Rancan, Santex Rimar Group CEO. We talked about common trends in the textile sector, the plans for 2020 and the Turkey market with Rancan.
How was 2019 for your company and what are the company’s plans for the 2020?
We are proud to say that Santex Rimar Group results of 2019 improved from the year before: we could grow our margins and we kept the sales volumes of 2018. Considering that generally 2019 was a tough year for the industry, we are very pleased and we thank our customers.
How important is the Turkish market to your company – and how much business is carried out here?
Turkey has always been an important market for our Group, especially for the finishing and the weaving technology, and in the past represented approximately the 10/15 % of our sales turnover alone. During the last two years this ratio decreased but we are confident that in the coming years the market will recover and we will go back to the previous figures. In the meantime we will continuously strengthen our presence in this Country with positive expectations regarding the Turkish economy.
The participation at ITM 2020 with two separate booths of more than 300 sqm each, one in the weaving and one in the finishing hall, confirms our strong local commitment also for 2020.
What trends are you currently seeing in the textile machinery industry?
Sustainability and transparency are becoming stronger and stronger trends of the textile industry, also in terms of new materials. While quality and productivity are costant industry drivers, I see more attention to the customer service which is becoming a significant and tailor made way of building stronger relationships with customers around the globe.
What industrial and economic challenges are currently impacting your company, and how is your company responding to them?
The main challenge is represented by the world economic situation characterized by geopolitical instability and trade tensions inflammation. But this context spurs us on constantly improving solutions and machines to deliver better resiliency and profitability to our customers, making their business environmentally and economically sustainable.
How is your company working to drive quality improvements in its machinery?
Quality improvements are the results of our cutomers feedbacks. Santex Rimar Group has a large base of installed machines in different markets and countries. As a Group, we are delivering machines for more than 80 years, and such long experience is certainly a plus for the quality improvements. We listen to customers with specific requests coming from diferent productions and geographic areas and we engineer solutions to provide the best responses in terms of quality to any requirements.
