Interview: Tuğba KARADEMİR
Garment Tech Istanbul Exhibition continues to be an important meeting point for showcasing innovative solutions in textile and garment technologies. YUKİ, which participated in the exhibition with a wide range of products, drew attention with the solutions it offers to meet the needs of everyone—from end users to large-scale facilities.
In an interview during the exhibition, YUKİ General Manager Zeynep Germi stated that AI-supported systems and automation technologies have become a key focus for the company and shared insights about their contributions to the industry.
“WE BRING DYNAMISM TO THE INDUSTRY WITH EFFICIENCY-BOOSTING SOLUTIONS”
Germi emphasized that their product variety appeals both to home users and large industrial facilities, saying: “Our product range is quite broad. We offer suitable solutions for everyone—from large factories to small workshops. Our new products are developed to meet the needs of these different segments. We invite everyone to discover these innovations up close.”
Highlighting the importance they place on technological advancements, Germi noted that machines equipped with artificial intelligence, production tracking systems, and smart chips provide major advantages for manufacturers: “One of our main focus areas in recent years has been AI-supported systems. Our machines include smart chips, integrated solutions like production and hanging systems. These provide significant efficiency gains for both large and medium-sized facilities.”
“WE OFFER TECHNOLOGICAL SOLUTIONS TO ECONOMIC CHALLENGES”
Germi emphasized that in today’s economic climate, efficiency is more critical than ever: “In this tough economic environment, we offer efficiency-boosting solutions to help manufacturers reduce costs. With our AI-supported machines, we aim to increase the profitability levels of all businesses.”
“ISTANBUL’S STRATEGIC LOCATION PROVIDES ADVANTAGES”
Pointing out the strong domestic and international participation in the exhibition, Germi highlighted Istanbul’s importance as a hub for such events: “Thanks to Istanbul’s geopolitical location, we hosted many visitors from neighboring countries. There’s a great interest in textile technologies in Turkiye. We’re very pleased with the interest and the feedback we received.
Here, we had the chance to reconnect with existing customers and establish potential new partnerships. We are exchanging ideas with visitors about production processes and holding discussions on supply chains and international collaborations. The Garment Tech Istanbul Exhibition has been very productive and satisfying for us.”
“WE ARE INCREASING EFFICIENCY WITH AI-SUPPORTED SYSTEMS”
Stating that YUKİ plays a pioneering role in the industry, Germi continued: “We are among the first companies to bring AI-supported, chip-equipped machines and smart hanger systems to the market. With these systems, we develop products that can sew different fabric types simultaneously, shorten thread cutting time, and boost operational efficiency.
We are seeing how fast technology is evolving and we follow these developments closely. We stay in constant contact with the companies we collaborate with—trying to understand their needs and provide the most suitable solutions.”
“WE ARE HOPEFUL FOR THE SECOND HALF OF 2025”
While acknowledging that 2025 has been challenging for the industry, Germi expressed optimism about the second half of the year and affirmed their belief in Turkiye’s strength in textiles: “We continue our collaborations with companies expanding into countries like Egypt and Morocco. However, Turkiye still has a very strong production infrastructure. In terms of quality and production capability, Turkiye remains indispensable.”
“THE EXHIBITION HAS BEEN VERY PRODUCTIVE FOR US”
Concluding her remarks with an overall assessment of the exhibition, Germi emphasized the value of direct contact with end users: “At the exhibition, we had the chance to directly listen to demands and expectations. We hope that economic conditions improve soon and that everyone can achieve better outcomes through technology-driven, efficient production processes. We will continue to help manufacturers improve efficiency by using technology correctly.”
