We Had a Good Exhibition, We Received the Attention We Expected
Teksel Tekstil General Manager Dursun Ferikel stated that they met with an interest above their expectations at ITM 2024 Exhibition. Ferikel said, “We will have a few surprises after the exhibiiton. We will make two new agreements.”
ITM 2024 Exhibition, which hosted the world textile technology leaders in Istanbul for 5 days, was held between 4-8 June. The number and diversity of visitors satisfied the participating companies. One of those companies was Teksel Tekstil. The company participated in ITM 2024 with the world’s leading companies in the fields of dyeing, finishing, circular knitting, hosiery knitting, yarn, yarn control and knitwear machinery, which it represents, and exhibited the latest technologies. Dursun Ferikel, General Manager of Teksel Tekstil, stated that they received more interest than they expected at ITM 2024 Exhibition. We conducted an interview with Ferikel for our Tekstil Teknoloji magazine.
Can you give information about the products and their benefits that you brought to the forefront at ITM 2024?
Teksel has been representing Europe’s leading machinery in Turkey for 38 years. We are participating in this organization with 16 representatives. Each of them has innovations, but I would like to list a few important ones here: Biancalani’s open-width continuous drum washing series AQUARIA machine performs wet processes with very high water saving.
The Hyper Feeder from the Italian brand BTSR is capable of electrical support. We also carry out projects with handmade yarns covered with pure silver.
“We Should Focus on Technical Textiles and Produce High Value-Added Products”
What are your predictions for the future of the textile industry? How are you preparing for the future as a company?
We started using the Chat-GPT program in our marketing department this year. We are developing artificial intelligence-supported assistants for our brands. Our country is going through a difficult economic process. In this process, we must make the right investments for our customers. We want everyone to give importance to technical textiles. We need to make products with high added value. Unless we do these, the country will unfortunately not be able to take this development in textiles to a higher level.
How was the ITM 2024 Exhibition for you? Did the interest meet your expectations?
We had a good exhibition and got the interest we expected. The fairground and the stands of our competitors were very full. For us, it was enough for our customers, with whom we have been in contact all year round, to be with us at the exhibition and to be able to chat. We will have a few surprises after the exhibition. We will make two new agreements.
“Istanbul is the center of this business”
Did the fact that the fair was organised in Istanbul, which connects Asia and Europe, satisfy you in terms of visitor diversity?
We also organise exhibitions in other cities. However, Istanbul is the centre of this business. Visitors from 24 different countries came to our stand at the same time. We had the opportunity to host them all and introduce ourselves and our products to them. Therefore, Istanbul seems to be indispensable for this business.
