“We Received A Large Number of Orders During ITM 2022”
Brückner was one of the participants of the ITM 2022 Exhibition which opened its doors in Tüyap after four years. Brückner at the exhibition; exhibited a wide product portfolio, including the new OPTI-COAT 2-in-1 coating unit, which combines the advantages of floating knife and knife-over-cylinder in one system.
We interviewed Regina Brückner, CEO of Brückner, for our Tekstil Teknoloji magazine. Brückner made evaluations about both the ITM 2022 and the Turkish textile market.
Could we get your opinions about the gains of the ITM 2022 for the textile industry?
First of all, we are very happy to be able to take part in such a nice exhibition again. It’s really great to be able to get together with people from all over the world in such a big organization and see each other in a positive mood again.
How was the ITM 2022 for you? Did it meet your expectations?
The ITM Exhibition was definitely very good for our company and we are happy to be here. Of course, we all face supply chain related problems. Probably all these transportation disruptions that many of our customers and other suppliers face also affect us.
What are the features that distinguish the products you exhibit at the exhibiton from your competitors and what will be the advantages they will provide to the users?
Our new technology focuses on highly efficient and sustainable production. As a company, our focus for many years is; how to use machines in the right way. It is important that we provide all possibilities to our customers, whether ram or other machines. What matters today is the way you use the machines as well as having a minimum of application area and safe water and chemicals. And it is the definition of how best to use them.
What kind of collaborations did you sign during the exhibition?
We have customers not only from Turkey, but also from many other Asian and African countries such as Mauritius and South Africa. We had an interesting meeting where we received a large number of orders.
What are your evaluations about the Turkish textile industry and the Turkish market?
I’m honestly always amazed how incredible the Turkish market is developing and the courage and the entrepreneurialism of the businessman here. Textile industry is so positive in Turkey, and whenever there’s a crisis, again, you invest more. It’s a benefit that a lot of productions come from Asia closer to Europe. So there is a lot of movement. There’s a lot of technology and good people with a lot of know how. Therefore, Turkey for us is a market that is developing very good.
What are your predictions about trends and innovations in finishing technologies in the world in the near future?
I think, trends and innovations will be similar to what we are talking about already. Since a few years, it is definitely sustainability. This is the big trend for everybody, but it means not only how you use the machine, but it means also how we produce the machine. So everybody has to take care on what kind of energy we are using, how much we are using, and in Europe a big trend nowadays is what kind of energy we are using to heat our machines. Because of course you know finishing machines always need kind of source heating source and nowadays we are talking a lot about combinations of gas and electricity combined or oil and electricity combined. So we need to think in a different way because the availability of these heating sources may not be plenty anymore, at least in central Europe, or it will be too expensive.
The effects of the pandemic are gradually decreasing all over the world. How is 2022 going for your company?
Luckily we are doing well. We do have a lot of orders and you know we have not only classical textiles, apparel machines, but we also do have a lot of machines for technical textiles and the world of technical textiles is definitely increasing because nowadays people understand that other materials can be exchanged by technical textiles, so there are opportunities in this field. And we have a lot of experience in this field since many years, so we have a positive projection for the future.
