He Started in the Textile Industry as a Worker, Founded a Factory
In Muş, 45-year-old İsmail Gül sends the products manufactured in the factory he established in the textile sector—where he began working at a young age—to 11 countries.
Moving to İzmir at the age of 14 to find a job, Gül worked as a laborer in textile factories for 15 years. With the experience he gained, Gül decided to establish his own business in Muş and, in 2022, founded his dream factory in the town of Sungu with an investment incentive provided by the state. A father of two, Gül exports the textile products manufactured in his factory—where he provides employment for 150 people—to 11 countries, primarily Germany, the United Kingdom, France, the Netherlands, Denmark, and Greece.
“We Produce 1,300 Trousers Per Day”
Speaking to an AA correspondent, Gül said they decided to make such an investment to benefit from state support and create job opportunities for young people.
Stating that they have established a strong business field, Gül noted: “Our city has a significant young population. We continue our activities focusing on this young population. We export 60 percent of our production, primarily to Germany, the United Kingdom, and France. We manufacture for leading companies in Türkiye. We have also benefited from state incentives. We strive to create employment for our youth. In my factory, where I employ 150 people, we produce 1,300 pairs of trousers per day. I worked as a laborer in textile factories in İzmir for 15 years from a young age. After working for many years, I learned the business and, with state support, became the owner of my own factory in Muş.”
Hivda Aktan, who works at the factory, said: “My father works in construction and my mother is a homemaker. I both attend school and work at the textile factory. I continue my education with the money I earn. I have been working here for one year.”
