Uster, one of the leading companies in textile quality management and measurement technologies, presented integrated solutions for the textile industry from fiber to fabric at ITM 2026. Uster CEO Davide Maccabruni said one of the key highlights at the fair was the R Recycling Module for the Uster AFIS 6 instrument, used for fiber measurement in the mill.
Launched worldwide at ITM 2026, the module provides data such as the Recycling Opening Index (ROI) for mechanically recycled cotton, helping producers make better quality and process decisions.

At the exhibition, Uster showcased quality management, analysis and process control solutions covering the textile production chain from fiber to fabric. Maccabruni said the R Recycling Module developed for Uster AFIS 6 stands out especially for mills working with recycled fiber. The solution makes the measurement of recycled raw materials more objective and is positioned as an important tool for preserving fiber quality and monitoring process performance during fiber preparation.
Maccabruni said ITM 2026 came at a very special moment for the industry. Geopolitical developments and recent market difficulties have affected the textile sector, particularly in Turkey and the surrounding region, where business had slowed down. At this year’s exhibition, however, Uster observed that business was already picking up again. Customers came from Turkey and neighboring countries, and a certain dynamic appeared to be returning to the region. In this sense, Maccabruni described ITM 2026 as the ideal exhibition at the ideal moment.

According to Maccabruni, Istanbul has traditionally been an ideal place to meet and remains a central location for the region. Its accessibility and strategic position provide a strong advantage for exhibitions such as ITM. He also said the visitor profile received by Uster was very high level, with both owners and technical people visiting the booth. This once again confirms Istanbul as a strong location for textile industry exhibitions.
