We interviewed with Fethi Özkök, General Menager Canlar Mekatronik, for the “Turkish Textile Machinery Industry” file, which we specially covered in this month’s issue of Tekstil Teknoloji magazine. Making evaluations about the past year, Özkök said, “As Canlar Mekatronik, it is our primary goal to maintain the positive momentum we have achieved in the last five years without slowing down.”
How was the year 2020 for Canlar Mekatronik? Have you had innovations and investments?
As it is known, the pandemic period experienced in the world at the beginning of 2020 and that we are still in affected all sectors. Production activities, which were also stopped for a while in the textile sector due to the coronavirus pandemic, started again. Many facilities have attempted to compensate for the economic loss they suffered due to the pandemic while reopening their doors. The first quarter of 2020 started with the improvement of automation adaptations of the productions, when new investment plans were made for all world markets. As a company, we continued our production together with the continuation of our existing orders and our length of term. In the summer, with the slowdown of the first wave of the pandemic process, our customers decided to accelerate and expand their investments as a result of large orders coming to textiles worldwide. As Canlar Mekatronik, we have closed the last year with the orders we received as of the end of August 2020.

Did you export in 2020? If so, what can you say about the countries, your export rates and your latest situation in the world market?
As Canlar Mekatronik, we export Asia-Pacific countries that meet a large part of the world textile production, especially Pakistan, Bangladesh, Indonesia, Vietnam, Thailand as well as more than 30 countries including Portugal, England, Poland, Uzbekistan, Peru, Brazil, Ecuador and China. Approximately 55 percent of our turnover consists of our export revenues.
What are your plans, innovations and goals for 2021?
Our priority plans for 2021 are to keep our financial and production structure ready for any situation. Due to the developments of this year, our primary goal was to maintain and increase our potential in our current markets. However, we are planning to increase our export revenues with the new investments we will realize next year. Accordingly, we conduct new market researches and set our goals.

Could you give information about your goals for 2021, both domestically and world wide?
We believe that the year 2021 will show a change according to the course of the current pandemic period. After the good news, the positive atmosphere in the sector brought uncertainties together with the expectation of a new wave that emerged recently. As Canlar Mekatronik, we aim to increase our domestic market share compared to the previous year, as in 2020. Increasing our share and creating new markets together with our brand power in our existing markets are among our international goals. As Canlar Mekatronik, our primary goal is to maintain the positive momentum we have achieved in the last five years without slowing down.
Could you give information about the machines and technologies you will present at ITM 2021?
ITM 2021 is one of the important fairs of our industry. For this reason, together with our R & D studies on our existing machine models, we will present our low consumption TECHsmart machine with more environmentally friendly developments.
