Canlar Mekatronik Increased Production Capacity by 400% in the Last 5 Years
We conducted an interview with Canlar General Manager Kaan Çakıcı for the January special issue of our Tekstil Teknoloji magazine, ‘Turkish Textile Machinery Manufacturers’. Canlar General Manager Kaan Çakıcı stated that they export Textile Fabric Dyeing and Finishing Machines to 40 countries with their group companies. Speaking to our magazine, Kaan Çakıcı expressed that; “We have increased our production capacity by 400% in the last 5 years with our technology and innovation-oriented productions.” and stated that they are one of the first three companies exporting sector machinery in textile producing countries. Canlar Mekatronik, which carries out studies in areas such as supporting production, following technology and developing new technologies with its staff consisting of 10 engineers and 7 technical draftsmen in its design center registered by the Ministry of Industry, has increased its production capacity by 400% in the last 5 years with its technology and innovation-oriented productions. Kaan Çakıcı continued his speech as follows: “Our brand awareness in our export countries has strengthened day by day in the products we offer to our markets with our machines, performance and environmentalist approaches. We provide 60% of our turnover from exports and we primarily aim to increase our share in exports every year compared to the previous year.” Stating that all the machines they produce are Industry 4.0 compatible products, Kaan Çakıcı underlined that they apply for at least 5 patents every year.
“We increased our market share by 55% in Uzbekistan”
Underlining that 2022 was a very productive year and that the priority export markets were Asia, Europe and South America regions, Kaan Çakıcı made a year-end evaluation and commented; “We spent 2022 very successfully and performed at full capacity. We increased our market share by 55% with the projects we realized in the Uzbekistan market in 2022. 2022 was a very busy and fast-paced year for us. The significant increase in our business volume led to an increase in profitability and turnover. Our plans for 2023 include increasing our production capacity by at least 10% and expanding our customer network further by adding new markets. We participated in the Textile Machinery Exhibition (ITM 2022) held in Istanbul in June 2022 and introduced our new products to our guests. We will also participate in the ITMA 2023 Fair, which is held every 4 years.”

“We are one of the top three companies exporting sector machinery in textile producing countries”
Kaan Çakıcı evaluating the past years in terms of export performance as follows; “If we evaluate the past years in terms of exports, we have become one of the global players of our sector during this period. Our export adventure, which we started with one country after 1999, has become a company that exports to 40 countries and has global brands within its structure. Canlar Mekatronik has taken an important place in the market by getting stronger since its establishment. We are one of the first three companies exporting our sector machines in textile producing countries. Our brand awareness in our export countries is getting stronger day by day in the products we offer to our markets with the performance and environmentalist approaches of the machines we produce.”
Pointing out that their investments continued at full speed in 2022 as in other years, Çakıcı said; ‘‘We carry out the welding operations of our machines on fully automatic robot lines. In addition, we increase the number of welding robots with new purchases every year. We have commissioned our ERP system, whose work we have completed, and in connection with this, we have switched to a smart warehouse system. We have started production in our new building where we will manufacture the automation control systems of our machines. By investing in new technology machines in the automation department, we have achieved significant savings in material and time. We have completed the orders by preparing the contracts of our new generation machines that will bring speed and quality to our production. We will make our production lines even more technological by commissioning them in our factory in the first quarter of 2023.’’
“We Reduce Carbon Emission Every Year with Our Inverstments”
Stating that they focus on environmentally friendly machine production and energy-efficient machines, Çakıcı explains how they support this process with their R&D studies: ‘‘As a company, we take care to minimize the environmental damage of the products we produce with our R&D studies. We save energy by using energy-saving engines in our machines. We reduce carbon emissions even more every year with our investments. We reduce our petroleum-powered vehicles and increase our electric vehicles. We meet the electrical energy needed by our factory from solar energy panels installed on the factory roof. All waste generated in our factory is stored separately and delivered to recycling companies, thus eliminating environmental waste generation.’’
“The Machinery Manufacturing Industry is Combined with R&D Studies”
‘‘The difference of the production of this sector from other sectors is the necessity of project, R&D and engineering designs at every stage.’’ Çakıcı mentioned that machines, machine parts and tools go through the design and project stage according to the request of the demander (other sectors and users) and the diversity and functions of other products, and that they are re-planned and put into production. Çakıcı concluded his statements as follows; ‘‘The machinery manufacturing industry lives intertwined with R&D. R&D studies play an important role in the development of this sector and the renewal of its technology.’’
